[UPDATE]
Hi, peeps, I am actually kind of happy with where Socialite is as a social experience game. I would love it if anyone could play it together with some friends. It feels bare bones, but I have put a lot of hours into creating the game. I absolutely love the way it turned out, and I have so much more I want to do to it in the future.
This journey of creating a game in Roblox from scratch has been the best thing I have made with my game development skills, and it shows that I, like many other creators, can use AI as a tool, not a cop-out for a cheap game. I have built every bit of the game, from the building background to the booths and even the new mini game that I made just to give people something to do. This was possible because of the help of Claude AI and ChatGPT, giving me ways to update my scripts and showing me ways to improve my game overall.
I had so many ups and downs making this game, from broken code to no motivation to continue, but it is by far one of the biggest achievements I have made over the last 15 weeks, and I am proud to say that.
Socialite will be updated whenever I find the time. It will be a passion project in the future and might get an entire overhaul to make the game feel better and smoother, with even more originality.
As for the game, please fill out this short feedback form for me
Roblox Game: Socialite https://www.roblox.com/games/107323032390060/Socialite Feedback: (I forgot to make this and send this out) https://
[Update]
I have made significant progress with the game from the start. I am proud to share my social experience with all of you and continue to add more to it. I have been wanting to make a game for years, ever since elementary, and this is my first real attempt at creating a game. I wanted to start small with social experiences so that I can learn more of the basics and get familiar with everything the game industry has to offer. Here is a small video update on the game. I had to lower the quality a little bit for Tumblr.
I will also link the game below for anyone who wants to look around and find any bugs for me.

[Small Update]
I am currently working on setting up a store in the game. I made the booth for it, and for now, it's in the middle of one of the platforms, but it has been giving me so much trouble that the currency system doesn't link up with the store, and I was fighting with ChatGPT to help me create this.
Below is the booth/stand for the store, which uses the models I made for the bookshelves, and also a modified version of the booth I got for free from a creator in Roblox. I also added a stand-in Roblox character that I named Sarya to be the owner of the store.
Other than that, I was experimenting with ChatGPT and Claude AI to make me a minigame, but that idea is scrapped for now because I want to add this shop so people can buy stuff to mess around in the game.
I want to make 2 more custom booths in the game and replace one side with a person's booth I got for free. So once I figure out how to get this shop running with at least 5 items, the next thing I'm gonna do is model 2 new booths and then try to spice up the world a bit more.
I wanted to add a video, but I'll just make the next one a video showcasing the progress I have made for it. I know this is a small update, but it's actually been fun-ish trying to make this and even using other AI to help me create something of this scale.
Almost forgot that I added slight adjustments to the lighting, added royalty-free music, and a few extra bushes. I also added back in a bench that got deleted somehow. I made more stuff pass-through, so colliding doesn't happen as often. I do want to update the trash model since it's just a big cylinder and a smaller cylinder on the top, so that's something I need to work on. I also finally put on the rest of the windows and the doors for the buildings that surround the main area, and made it so they also have no collisions for both optimization, and it was annoying to run into them when by the walls of the place.
[UPDATE]
Hi everyone, I have made a new booth for the game and will make 2 more soon. I have also added the currency system with the help of a handy dandy code and instructions from ChatGPT. I have been doing slight things like trying to finish the backdrop buidlings and making new assets like the booth, but all in all it's a pretty small update. I finished the Game design document, which should have been completed by now and I might still updated it with more things int he future to flush out the social experience of this game. Below are the photos of the Currency script and the new booth model that I handcrafted. I still need to tweak it, but I think it looks good for something just built in Roblox.
I have been running into problems that I have overlooked with certain parts not being anchored or parts not having cast shadow off so that I can save stability for the game and optimize it. Other than that Id say that progress is pretty good for the game. I just need to get a shop going and link it to the currency system. I also want to look for more ideas for the booths and get a booths to change if a players wants a different one. Below is a before and after shot of the area, and I am super proud at how it is turning ou.t I am hoping to finish this and keep updating it even after the class is over.

Hello again, people!!! I am here with a small update. I havent been able to work on the game just yet, or continue to work on it. I was sick and also had family things going on. I do, however, have some images of the design doc that I am still working on and finalizing. So here are some pictures for that. They are just some of the controls and features I am looking to add to the game.
I want to be able to work more on the Gameplay experiences right now, and hopefully, I will create a playable gameplay loop that fits into the game. I'm excited to say that I will continue to work on the game in the coming days and finish 3 things within those days, these things being;
The town background
The sign with claimable and editable wording
more aesthetics to the world itself.
The game will stay on track and will continue to be made, but this break of issues that came to me really hindered the progress. I hope to get back to you when I have finished these things.
[Update]
Here is a little progress report on the Game I am making.
Since the start of the semester, I have made a layout of the games area where players will be socializing. I began to use ChatGPT to generate a code for a Sign that players can claim, but I am trying to refine it since the code allows the player to use the sign, but the words don't appear just yet.
For the next 2 weeks, I am looking forward to finalizing a Game Design Document (I understand that the document is needed first). I wanted to get a visual representation of the game before I work on the Game Design Document. I am going to get the sign code working so I can place booths around the area for players to interact with and add more to the buildings to spruce them up a little. I wanted to go for a lovely cartoon style with bright, solid colors, and I think it works well.
All the Assets in the game are being made by me so that I can continue to focus on what needs to be done.
Assets so far:
Booth
Tree
Backdrop of buildings
I have had some hiccups because I keep running into problems like the Booth Sign, but other than that, I also have to focus on other projects in other classes, which tends to get hard for me since it feels like there's a lot getting thrown at me.
I'll make sure to make a video soon and show people what I am looking forward to making and what is being created for this small game.
Timeline-wise I would say we are still in the beginning but we are making progress.
[Update]
I am still very much at the start of this project, and there is stuff that I'm trying to figure out. Hopefully, in the coming days, I can make an outline of a map on Roblox Studio for the game. I have no idea what's waiting for me on the other side, but I'll probs do another update post about it when I get the general idea of everything.
