I don’t know why I love Redwoods so much, I just do. They calm me in a way that nothing else does. The past 4 days I did nothing but to surround myself w these indescribable beauty that put me in awe at every turn I took. I’ve never been this up close to so many Giant Redwoods at once and as I was hiking through endless acres of redwood groves, I couldn’t help but wonder how lucky I am to be alive, how proud I should be of myself for taking one difficult step after another in order to be healthy again, how grateful I am that after all, everything seems to be working out just fine, and how foolish it is of me to spend so much time and energy worrying about the little things that shouldn’t matter in the first place. I finished this trip with some renewed clarity and focus on how I could live the New Year a little differently to result in a better and authentic self because to be honest, 2017 really freaking sucked. Thank you @blackgoggles for joining me on this last-min road trip. (at Humboldt Redwoods State Park)
