we deserved a scene where cas is about to leave at the end of an episode for unknown reasons again and as he turns around and starts climbing the stairs we see dean look up at him, fists clenched eyes teary jensen's microexpressions on his face and looking completely miserable. and he should close his eyes and whisper "stay" and he is surprised because he wasn't meant to say that out loud. but he did. and castiel stops, shocked and turns to dean and looks down, questioning. and dean's head hangs low and he feels he is about to cry. and he says something like. "please stay man. just stay. i mean why are you even leaving, cas. don't you want to stay" and he is about to explode because what if cas just doesn't want to be around and its his own fault for telling him to leave that one time as if he doesn't have regular nightmares and all consuming guilt about it. and cas on the other hand looks absolutely wonderstruck, eyes wild, not noticing his breath and heartbeat getting faster. and finally he dares to ask quietly "i... suppose i could stay? what do you need me for dean?" because he will not let himself believe dean doesn't need anything. and dean does this little hurt laugh of his and says "cas i don't need anything man i just don't want you to leave. you can stay can't you just stay one damn time" and cas starts carefully going down the stairs as if not to scare dean or something. and he stays and dean sees him in the morning and looks happier than ever. and this is the first step to cas staying which later leads to long movie nights and even longer talks and dean falling asleep curled up next to castiel feeling safer than ever. and one morning when dean slowly wakes up cas realizes, horrified, that he stayed all night next to dean in his bed but he also spent all night playing absentmindedly with dean's hair. he is terrified that dean will be angry or something but dean wakes up and says he never slept better. which later leads to soft kisses and also amazing sex but i will stop right there because there are children present on this webbed site
