thanks for informing me, i am aware of the unit 731 situation and i wholeheartedly believe infold is to blame for that. because what do you mean you deliberately chose to use that number KNOWING WELL it has a vile history in your nation? it’s like rubbing salt on an injury because valko himself is an animal hybrid and apparently—as in my only research was a quick google search—this unit 731 was responsible for human experiments in china during the ww2. i’ve also seen tweets about infold’s higher ups being japanese which is… yikes (if it’s true i mean. i’m quite skeptical about a chinese game development company having japanese higher ups). anyway, it’s still the company’s fault as this needed to be put in the game after going through countless feedbacks, right? you’re telling me no chinese developer/artist in a chinese game company noticed this? nah, this whole valko cancellation is because they fucked up really badly and their government will probably carry out an investigation instead of chinese fans’ backlash. here’s my conspiracy theory:
• infold has not been the best at managing 5 love interests. their schedule sucked ass and they couldn’t fix this issue.
• a lot of main story content was already missing as in sylus and caleb’s were managed so poorly. they don’t have as many cards as the og 3. or timelock events? (not sure about this one i might be wrong about the name)
• this in turn pissed off so many chinese (and global!) players.
• there was no PROPER build up for valko in the main story content—again, as it was already missing so much—so when they dropped the news of his release on the livestream everyone was shocked. albeit i do believe there was always meant to be a 6th love interest. we always had “coming soon” on the character selection screen and the whole mythical motif of the characters.
• infold kept apologizing after the valko livestream, telling players to “give him a chance” and to “mark their calendars” for his launch.
• they release a statement regarding their stance: they won’t delete him off the game (SAY SIKE), the devs worked hard, his introduction was planned in advance and that it was actually not sudden at all! there were hints!
• 731 situation happened (i didn’t see or pay attention to this detail as i am not chinese and i haven’t seen any in-game screenshots of this). chinese players threw literal cow shit to infold’s building alongside leaving funeral flowers outside. police had to intervene.
• infold cancelled valko because they don’t want to be investigated by the government.
• infold stated that they were actually not ready for valko’s introduction (alluding to the missing main story content, if you want to believe that) which is a complete 180 from their inital crisis control announcement
• infold announced no more new love interests in the future because they decided to listen to their players which caused the rift between global and chinese players. global side thinks infold only cares about the chinese side. chinese side is also entitled enough to spew hate towards the global playerbase on twitter with their vpns!
• valko is pulled from the official website but is still present in their social media.
as for “calling the chinese fans slurs”, i am not sorry for being harsh. if infold really only cared about and listened to their chinese playerbase, they would have scrapped the card in which rafayel gets carried by the mc! they were fuming when that card was out. they pressured infold into releasing statements about 3D animated chatacters’s sexuality and how the lads love interests are straight and definitely not homo! granted the company made the statement because again, they didn’t want to be censored by the chinese government. i’m calling the chinese fans cunts because they’re homophobic, racist, entitled pieces of shit and not because they’re rightfully mad about the 731 situation.

people turning around on twitter and going like "valko was never the problem in the first place" being so deliberately obtuse as if everything about him hasn't been dragged left and right and he hasn't been called "gay" as an insult and the entire campaign that went on about kicking him out the game and the "OT5" bullshit didn't happen. yall are some hypocrites. this is truly so sad for his dev team and the people who were looking forward to his release. i hope this decision gets eventually overruled and we can one day have him debut.

- the company had to release statements about 3D characters’ sexuality and explicitly say they are straight before AND after valko’s release. (i’m talking specifically about after valko’s release because cn side went on about how he seemed too manly for chinese beauty standards so he must have been developed for gay men playing the game)
- cn side called valko’s skin “too dark” so he must pander to western players (be so fucking real)
and people on twitter still wanted to know about what the cn side thought of valko and whether he was being well received.

infold is a spineless piece of shit of a company their management can’t even stand up for the character creation team and their hard work go argue with a wall
what i like about the bear and how it handles addiction is that all of the chatacters are haunted by michael’s death, they miss him terribly. they mostly regard him as the piece that kept the family together despite all the flashback episodes of michael being straight up a mentally unstable douchebag. none of the characters excuse his behavior by saying “oh it was addiction” instead they accept it as it is. there are times they hold HIM accountable because being addicted to drugs DOES NOT excuse his outrageous behavior and i love that THEY hold themselves accountable for not noticing his battle with depression, bipolar disorder, and addiction sooner. sure, they feel guilty about it and it’s literally the point of everybody trying to keep the restaurant up and going but they don’t take all the blame for his death. they knew he was struggling and at times they couldn’t help him, or didn’t try hard enough however, micheal himself didn’t want that help. he actively tried to put a distance, tried every other way to make himself unlikable so his passing wouldn’t hurt as much. but it did. because he’s michael. sorry i rambled too much, i just really like how everyone still speaks highly of him despite everything. oh michael berzatto, no one could make me form a solid opinion about you.
