He was their sweet shy little muffin pie, that liked playing chess and was “social awkward.” He was maybe even neurodivergent, specifically so they can infantilize him in their minds and he just so happened to be black, it’s not something that they ever acknowledged.

But for them, seeing him on that boat surrounded by women of a certain aesthetic, and having a little ass thrown in his face while he responded with interest, was all to much for them. Way too BLACK way too NIGGA-esque. How dare he, “how dare he not fit the image is sweetness and purity that I have in my mind”

That clip reminded them too much of the aesthetics and lifestyles of athletes they deemed him “better” than and rappers they see has dangerous, unintelligent, morally perverse and again TOO BLACK!

To them a young Black man cannot be shy, great at chess, great in his sport, be a role model for those that look up to him, and wanna party with bad bitches. It just doesn’t compute for them, the non-black-european cannot comprehend.

These are ​just my observations as Black women from the US and new to this football space, but I’ve seen this before in the F1 community with non-black people who latch onto Lewis Hamilton and in many other spaces as well.
