I did suspect some details initially, but was (still am) cynical about Netflix as a corporation allowing the “riskier” queer/SA storyline to actually shine through using a clever meta plot twist like this.

Especially in such a short amount of time like the one we have now (the last episode which is 2h08mins), and after them overly prioritizing Holly screentime + messing up the lighting, color-grading and VFX in multiple shots to the point of it looking like a community theater production.

But after sleeping on it, thinking about it, rewatching some scenes and seeing these details noticed and pointed out… for now I’m choosing to wait and keep my faith in the quality of the story. Right now, I do believe this is what they’re doing.

Some Bylers also need to calm the fuck down about how #cutgate and #netflixreleasethevolume2files are supposedly “baseless” and “embarrassing” us. Because if the above meta plot twist is indeed real, the recent mass reaction of confusion and outrage is EXACTLY what was to be expected from the attentive Stranger Things audience and, more specifically, the attentive Byler audience. Now you can finally stop being an insecure pick-me who’s virtually incapable of dropping the “delusional” card, thanks.
