have you seen bora ree since the storm? some say they look like shin yeeun but they’re 20 & go by the bubble-brain. she lived in halloway for eight years & they are originally from minneapolis. before the town vanished they were studying pre-veterinary medicine and lived at the dorms. most people knew the cisfemale as sunny but i’ve heard they can also be foolish. for some reason, they feel uneasy about the town’s disappearance. BIOGRAPHY
her mother passed away before she could even remember her ----- but bora’s father said that she was a beautiful individual, in and out. it’s stated that bora inherited her sunny personality from her and perhaps will be the closest connection she would ever have.
much like anika, bora was shielded from many things by her father at a young age. his excuse is his want to protect her and this made sense since it had been the two of them. it was at the age of twelve that bora and her father moved to halloway ---- he got a job offer at the local university as a counselor and it paid well enough to survive, just the two of them.
growing up, bora’s innocence and naivety gave the impression of a ditziness and was often bullied for it. at fifteen, she went home and wept in her father’s arms, who felt awkward at the time because he wasn’t entirely sure how to handle delicate matters such as feelings --- which was ironic because he was a pro at it with his students.
however, it just so happened that her grandmother was in town, wanting to provide enough food for her son and granddaughter, afraid that they would starve if they didn’t have her cooking. she teased bora for her tears, comparing them to a banshee’s cry and urged bora to toughen up because her mother was not here to do her job, and her father was not the perfect individual to do this. so bora tried her best to heed her grandmother’s advice and though it was difficult at first, she made through it.
it wasn’t until she had her first boyfriend that changed everything ---- as her friend once told her; you won’t find love until you love yourself --- and this fell to be true. bora fell head over heels in love with this boy until one day, he left and sent her a half-assed break up text -- “love u. can’t do the long distance thing. bye. </3??” and she was shattered again.
bora had always adored animals growing up and had two cats and one dog. this was enough excuse to go into pre-vet med so that she could play with them all day.
