One day, while talking about feelings or something, Arno suddenly feels too vulnerable and starts laughing with alarming frequency at everything Jacob says in an attempt to change the subject. He doesn't want to talk about anything that involves feelings because, well, he has no idea what to do to silence the little voice in his head that keeps telling him to run away.

Arno asks Jacob to stop, to be quiet, to talk about something else, to stop kissing him. Jacob's heart is on his sleeve, and although he knows he shouldn't overwhelm Arno, he ends up telling Arno an awkward "I love you". It feels right. Liberating. Jacob smiles so much his cheeks hurt when he says it.

Arno is so bewildered that he stops hearing his own breathing. Then he punches Jacob in the face and runs down the roof.
