I know from personal experience that this is THE WORST! Stay positive if you can, because things can work out. Personally, I applied for Care Credit and did a fundraiser through YouCaring. There are other options out there too! (also a reminder that we only signal boost and donate to certified non-profits, so we can’t help individuals in those ways, but I hope this post helps out because I know how difficult this can be!)
[image description: several images containing drawings of cats on a light cyan background, accompanied by dark gray text.
the first one has a shows the face of an orange cat, with bandages on its face. the text says “dealing with emergency vet bills.”
in the next image,a dark gray cat is shown. the text says “explain your situation to your vet and see if you can work out a payment plan. some vets might be willing to work with you! this is where having a good relationship with your vet will come in handy.”
next, a light gray tabby wearing a yellow bow tie stands in front of a graph displaying that about 2/3s of a goal has been met. “set up an online fundraiser so your friends and family can contribute to you easily. make sure you provide a contact for your vet, a quote or bill as proof of your debt, and plenty of photos and your pet’s story! details help!”
the fourth image shows a calico cat holding a green card in her mouth, with the text on the card saying “$ cat care.” the other text reads “apply for additional credit. if you don’t have enough credit available, you can apply for things like care credit. most vets accept this and you can use the credit immediately.”
a black cat stretches out near further text- “apply for financial assistance! there are organizations that will help you pay for vet care. take a look at the links below. there are ones for each u.s. state, as well as ones specific to an animal or breed.
the last image has a white cat holding a pink stylized heart, with the words “good luck, don’t give up.”]
