  ❛  what’s wrong with the name burt?  ❜‍  --- it was almost like she was OFFENDED. hand against her chest in a  m o c k  hurt manner before giving him a cheeky grin once more as she gave him a playful shove. he was one of her closest friends, of course she had gotten him more than that. a little box appeared from her totoro bag as she handed it to him. inside was a linked bracelet with a small charm of a moon encrusted in jewels. she had seen it and thought of him immediately. the guilt was tight against her chest as she pursed her lips together upon hearing about her sudden departure.  ❛  yeah... i,  ❜‍  eyes suddenly downcast, body visibly uneasy,  ❛  work called &. it wasn’t pleasant.  ❜‍ 

it had been a long while since the two of them had seen one another &. she was curious to know what he had been up to and how he had been doing. like everyone, she had been trying to make her rounds and apologise for her sudden disappearance --- when work calls, she never has much of a choice or the time to explain. knocking on his apartment door ( where she hoped he still resided ) a small box of chocolates as a peace offering in her hand, she smiled brightly upon seeing his face once more.  ❛  i was gonna invite you to another arcade evening but since i whooped your ass last time, thought i’d just come over with a gift !!  ❜‍  ♡  @interxstitial​

aha, classic decoy. she hadn’t really just gotten him a worm on the string… however —-   ❛  well i had got you something else a little more extravagant but seeing as you’ve just thrown BURT to the wall, i don’t know if you really deserve it…  ❜‍  did he really think she was only gonna get him that after she had been shipped away for work and hadn’t had a chance to say goodbye? her guilt had been eating at her and she wanted to make it up to him.

doe like optics flickered across her surroundings before a figure had her heart almost jumping out of her chest, the darkened silhouette almost haunting with the disappearing daylight. as she noticed the others face, a flash of déjá vu hit her so hard, it almost made her breathless. the illusion in her mind almost paralysing as she tried to figure out what the sensation she was feeling truly was. trepidation in her footsteps as she dared to move closer to the woman before tentative words emanated from rosy tiers,  ❛  --- do i ... know you ?  ❜‍  ♡ @smogflesh

anxiety pooled within, as she bit down on her lower lip &. ( inwardly cursed herself ). a simple call, that was all it would have taken and this whole mess would have been avoided. what if the other was angry at her for up and leaving? while she had every right to be, hana did have an explanation. their meetings were usually so full of LIFE &. LAUGHTER but as her hand trembled against the door hesitating to knock, she almost felt herself pulling away. unfortunately her job meant going away from time to time and sadly this one had definitely taken its toll. she was a ( SOLDIER ) after all. after months on the front line, this was one of the scariest things she had done in a while.  ❛  what if you don’t want to speak to me anymore -- ..  ❜‍  it was merely a whisper. a rhetorical question aimed more so to herself before plucking up the courage to knock three times tentatively.  ♡ @allbettr 

don’t push your luck, hana -- -  ❛  the fact you haven’t bought me a welcome back gift when i have spent all my money on getting you the most fabulous thing...  ❜‍  the dramas had already begun &. it hasn’t even been a minute. pulling out the box which was neatly gift wrapped, she handed it to him with a worryingly mischievous grin. it was indeed, a ( PINK ) worm on a string.  ♡ @moonspower​

while her eyes focused on the gruesome scene playing out before them on the tv, she only just registered his words as she blindly reached for his hand ( a couple of times missing ) before slapping her palm against his and curling her fingers around in a death grip manner. ‘ oh god, don’t go in there!! ’ she shouted before the character went into the face of danger only to get murdered within seconds. hana ( who was a little too into it ) turned around to jaeho with horror etched upon her features, hand still in his. ‘ i told her not to go in there!! you heard me, right?! ’

looking at him in confusion when she saw he was wearing a coat inside the house, she raised a brow before bursting into a fit of laughter. ‘ you good? ’ as she headed inside, she was happy to notice the bundle of fluff that was kofi & she excitedly padded over before squatting down for cuddles. ‘ i bought the one and only delicacy which is mcdonalds!! ’ the food of gods in her mind. how she wasn’t a walking nugget was unbelievable. ‘ did i catch you at a bad time though? ’

snorting at his almost choking spree, she grinned and scrunched up her nose. ‘ don’t die. that wouldn’t be a good way to scare people when you’re a ghost... ’ she leaned back against her chair trying to suppress giggles, ‘ reason for death; choking on a grain of rice. ’ as the smile graced his features, hers faded & she narrowed her eyes and shuddered. ‘ trapped souls?! that sounds worse! ’ but his question piqued her curiosity and with another mouthful of noodles ( ladylike as always ) she was humming in excitement. ‘ do tell? ’

there was concern etched upon her features as she moved closer and pursed her lips together. ‘ you’ve been eating well, right? ’ before she could even say anything else however, the other was switching it up and she smiled in excitement at the thought of a good old greasy burger from a food truck. ‘ you had me at break !! ’ without any warning, she linked their arms together and tugged her to follow. ‘ work can wait! it’s not important. ’

with a mouthful of ramen, hamster cheeks and all, she felt a little caught off guard as doe like hues flickered up to look into the ends of his chopsticks ( a deer caught in headlights comes to mind ). tilting her head to the side, she nodded before a rather exaggerated shudder came over her. ‘ there’s definitely some spooky shit out there... ’ she spoke before another mouthful of noodles. she had been ghost hunting once and it wasn’t her proudest of moments, the memory embedded deep within. ‘ so i went to this abandoned house once and may have woken up the dead with how much i screamed! ’
