I sometimes like to download vintage art for some reason

this is a promotional art for the 1988 tmnt toys made by playmates that came alongside the cartoon

Fun fact: in the original tmnt comics made by Peter laird and Kevin eastman, the turtles all had red masks, they got multi-colored masks in the show so kids could identify each turtle

I think i read somewhere that Peter laird (one of tmnt creators) actually chose the colors for each one

Raphael kept the red mask because it matched his agressive personality

Leonardo was given the blue mask because he is the leader

Donatello was given the purple mask because purple is a pacifist and chill colour

And Michelangelo was given the orange mask because Peter thought orange was a goofy colour
