Sometime on the Argo II:

Frank: All these monster attacks are making me crazy.

Gen Z: Crazy?

Annabeth: DAMMIT FRANK!

Gen Z: I was crazy once.

Hazel: We JUST got them to stop as well!

Leo: they locked me in a room.

Piper: Leo please-

Percy: A rubber room

Jason: Bro-

Gen Z: A rubber room with rats.

Gen Z/Percy/Leo: The rats made me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once…

Basically I was almost like a character in the circus, except (in dream logic) I kept going in and out of third person view (I think as it got scarier in my dream I kind of disassociated from it)

Caine turned into this virtual monster thing that was chasing people around the circus, I never actually saw Kinger but (in dream logic) I kind of knew that Caine had got him first, I think I saw Gangle or Ragatha once in like distorted dream vision, but I DEFINITELY heard them screaming before Monster Caine come around the corner. I didn’t see them again.

Zooble, Jax and Pomni managed to make it out of the circus on like, a minecart? (I think I’d been playing a lot of minecraft at the time) and went like, through the digital circuits into another game kind of world and for some reason I just knew that being here would only slow Caine down, and if we kept going in the minecart thing we would only loop around through worlds and eventually get back to the circus.

Zooble argued with Jax in jibberish and then wandered off, Pomni and Jax got into the cart and then did something (this I can’t remember they like fiddled with the cart but it’s distorted in like that fuzzy dream memory) and eventually they got out into the real world and just kind of lay in the sun. Then I woke up.

I think the most nightmarish thing was that I never actually SAW Caine or the monster amalgamation that was, I just like heard the screams and KNEW when he was coming.

Ok so I wanted to expand on my “Caine trying to take control of the characters minds theory” from this post because I added some more things

Basically someone who also watched TADC and I were talking about it and they said that AI Caine just seems like a helpful AI and not a creepy mind control AI

Well what if Caine is trying to help?

What if he was an AI that was programmed to make sure that all the players and characters are having fun?

So when they got stressed from being trapped in the game he made sure there were adventures to keep them occupied

However, this didn’t work because the characters still wanted a way to get out of the game.

Now because Caine is programmed to make sure they were having fun, the characters being stressed and going crazy is a big no no because, well, they’re not having fun!

So how could Caine get them to have fun?

How could he possibly change their minds?

Their minds? The one thing he can’t control…

Unless.

And so comes in my theory that he is trying to alter their minds to make them have fun! What could go wrong?

Wah oh- they abstracted…

But Caine the AI can’t tell the others because then they will be stressed and not have fun :(

So Caine doesn’t tell them. Like with AI in cars, Caine prioritises the characters over anything else, well prioritises their fun over the fact that their friends are being abstracted…

Gen Z, to Gaia: It’s the basic bitch for me.

Jason: It’s the child murder for me.

Piper: It’s the being called the earth mother but actually not caring about the world for me

Annabeth: It’s the having children so ugly your husband threw them into hell for me

Hazel: It’s the dating hell for me

Leo: It’s the letting people literally step all over you for me

Why the hell do people bother with the “baby on board” stickers on cars?p

Like why announce that to the world? Do you think I was going to purposely hit your car??

“Uh oh this car’s got a baby on board, guess gotta find another car to crash into.” ???

And on the other hand, what makes you think that I won’t purposely crash into your car now?

Jason, not even looking up from his book: Not much bro.

Percy: Bro.

Jason: Ok.

Percy: What do you see?

Jason: Nothing.

Percy: That’s my world without you bro.

Jason: Bro.

Percy: Bro.

Jason: Bro-

Annabeth: are you guys all ok?

Hazel: Well, yes- but- we found a book of place names, and, Percy and Leo- I'm so sorry for what we've inflicted upon the Argo II.

Annabeth: what did you do...?

Percy, charging in: BUTCOMBE!!

Hazel: that. They- they found a place called-

Leo, right behind Percy: BUTCOMBE!!

Piper: Hey! We don’t spit here. If it’s in your mouth, you swallow it, we don't want to be wasteful.

Percy *trying not to laugh*: Hm.

Annabeth *sighing*: Percy Jackson don’t add fuel to the fire.

Leo in the background: Yeah, that’s my job. Now what are we trying to swallow?

Piper: Leo.

Leo: Yes…?

Piper: Shut up.

Annabeth: Yes?

Percy: You love me right?

Annabeth:

Annabeth:

Percy troublemaker Jackson:

Annabeth:

Percy: am i in trouble?

Annabeth: take a guess

Percy:

Percy: no-

(Because you can’t tell me that Leo and Jason haven’t been on the receiving end of Piper and Percy has DEFINITELY made a bad joke around Annabeth during her time of month)

Anyway, at one point during the trip all three girls are on the top side of the boat and they’re fighting wilding griffins. Frank (being the kind lovable oaf he is) kinda gets worried because it sounds like there’s a rave going on topside.

He knows perfectly well that the girls can handle themselves, but he (being Frank) is just worried about his friends, so he heads up to see if they need any help.

When he gets up there all he sees is carnage.

But not of the girls.

There are feathers littered everywhere and monster dust is just raining down along the deck. In the middle of the boat, Piper, Annabeth and Hazel are beating this massive griffin like some sort of piñata.

Frank, like any sane person seeing the wrath of an angry teenage female, runs back below and hides in his room.

It was at this point that Frank truly realised he shouldn’t fear death. Because there are WORSE things than death. Like what he just witnessed.

Will: you’re right, Nico.

Nico: yeah.

Will: violence is the question.

Nico: wait what-

Will, getting ready to throw hands: and the answer is YES.
