This watercolor piece was inspired by my childhood summer vacations and the colorful souvenirs I would collect! 🐠🩷

You are afraid to go out, because a simple trip could turn into a target.

You are afraid to send your child to school or kindergarten, because they could be targeted on the way there or back.

You are afraid to walk beside bombed buildings, because debris or rubble could fall on you.

You are afraid to oversleep and miss your turn to get water or your chance to receive food from a community kitchen.

You are afraid to sleep through the night, worrying that a snake, a rat, or a stray animal might attack your children.

You are afraid whenever you hear the word “evacuation,” or when you hear about a place threatened with bombing.

You are afraid that anything could happen and the crossing could close, while merchants take advantage of your health and raise prices.

In Gaza, we have become afraid of everything, because we have no one standing behind us, no power to protect us, and no force to prevent the dangers surrounding us.

I had a bunch of idk ruffles that I cut off of a petticoat (because it caused too much volume) lol and after a couple of attempts managed to dye those a blue I like

cut my ball of ruffle thread into small strips and cooked those with dye for synthetic fabric :o
