A) the characters in the musical are far from accurate portrayals of the founding fathers.

B) you can acknowledge that the real historical figure was racist/homophobic/misogynistic etc. And still like the musical

C)the musical is NOT historically accurate. Lin acknowledges it in many interviews and in the Hamiltome (the book about the making of the musical) for example: the Schuylers had more than three daughters, the Hamilton’s has more than two children, Angelica was already married prior to meeting Hamilton, it is more than likely that Hamilton, Laurens, Lafayette, and Mulligan were never actually in the same place at once... I can go on.

D) if Hamilton the musical has sparked your interest in learning what really happened, that’s good. Don’t let people bully you out of learning because of the catalyst of your interest.

Please. You can romanticize the Broadway characters. You can identify with the Broadway character. But if I see “Thomas Jefferson did nothing wrong uwu” in the tags again, I’m going to lose my shit.

This isn’t about “agreeing or supporting” Betty’s choices. It’s about how it’s a complete 180 from what the character that I have spent 4 years loving.

Betty Cooper of “The Locked Room” wouldn’t cheat. Period. End of.

Don’t give me this “she’s a young girl/she’s still trying to figure herself out.” If she knew not to fucking cheat on a quiz show, she fucking knows not to cheat on her boyfriend.

Especially with someone she fucking knows Jughead’s insecure about.

Also? She’s already done bad things, for good reasons. She’s never been hurtful.

And this? Was fucking hurtful.

So sorry, boo. No disrespect because it’s not your fault, but assassinating Betty’s character this way is horrible writing. As an actress, you fucking deserve writers that love your character as much as you do.

Jughead sighed as he walked away from Fred’s grave, his heart feeling particularly heavy in his chest. 

It still didn’t feel real. He knew he’d one day shoulder the front end of a modest casket -Fred wouldn’t want anything more- with Archie opposite him, but he’d imagined it would be a while down the road.

Maybe in twenty or thirty or forty years, but he had always hoped it would have been further away.

Jughead shook the thought away.

Instead of dwelling, he pressed his fingers to his cheeks, letting out a short puff of air when he realized his face was dry before he scanned the semi-open field for Betty. 

He stopped in his tracks when he noticed her standing in front of a large marble headstone, black ink covering the face of it.

Jughead woke with a start, the sheets and his body damp with sweat. He ran a hand through his hair, grimacing at how greasy the strands felt between his fingers. He threw the covers back, staring up at the ceiling as warm air blew in from the open window. It had been two weeks since he’d arrived in the god awful state of California, but the nightmares hadn’t stopped. 

Chapter 10: Officially Official

Summary: Philophobia: The fear of falling in love or emotional attachment.

Riverdale High’s new History teacher, Forsythe Pendleton Jones the Third, is prickly, rude, and spends more times hanging out with the kid’s smoking outside than he does in the teacher’s lounge. Betty Cooper, fellow staff member and tutor to his younger sister, is determined not to let him get her down. But when old feelings from high school days start to resurface, it might be hard to ignore the magnetic attraction.

Once, Jughead had overhead two of his students arguing about who made the first move, which, while funny, had absolutely nothing to do with the implications of the Cold War on modern day country relations. As he had handed back their essays, Jughead couldn’t help but bite out, “Speculating on my relationship isn’t going to get that C- to improve before the final, Jeremy. Maybe you should be focusing on that instead.”
