ex smoker Edega... only stopped fairly recently... thinking thoughts...

if y'all noticed a new short scene added to my latest fic no y'all didn't 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

am lowkey already writing this as part of a fic but i think vamp!Edega would be particularly sensitive to people questioning why he wanted to specifically be a doctor... it'd be one of the few things to make him like noticeably visibly angry. ties into insecurities he has about himself about why he went into the medical field, about whether there's a sinister "real reason" he joined it. so he ends up being super strict about never laying a hand on the blood bank/storage/whatever it's called lmao for feeding purposes no matter how hungry he gets so he can "prove" he's a doctor for the right reasons. not even mentioning the whole specifically being a surgeon and the willpower needed to ignore all the blood that entails (tho having assistants around helps with that a lot can't exactly take a quick snack without getting noticed there lol). having someone question him despite the genuine hard work he's put into his career would really set Edega off in a way not much else could... thinking about this AU too much lmao

I sometimes think about the idea of Edega donating his body to science and Mark's reaction to that... I wrote a bit about it in one of my fics but didn't delve into the nitty gritty of my feelings about it. How Edega thinks even his death needs to be "useful" to somebody, Mark seeing Edega's obsession with usefulness going beyond death. In the event of Edega's hypothetical death, how much it recontextualizes Mark's experiences as a med student/doctor where he (highly likely I do believe) worked with cadavers. Thinking about how his friend's body doesn't get to rest even in death, just like in life. I feel like there's a lot to dive into here but my brain can't think of the words to say more about it rn lol
