Thoughts distort reality. Thatās a fact, but it still is very hard for us to let go of them.
Thoughts can feel like a security blanket without which we feel in danger, but we have to realize that they do not reflect reality if we want to live a peaceful life.
When a negative thought arises in our minds, it brings with it a negative emotion if we choose to treat it as reality. We then associate with this emotion and identify with it, thus losing contact with reality and who we really are, because we are afraid of what could happen in result of this emotion - we are deathly afraid of our own experience. How to Be Calm: Thereās Only One Thing You Should Do
I remember the very first reminder I put up on my wall when I started to work on creating a more peaceful life. I have moved since then, and I still have it on my wall today. I actually made a mindful calligraphy painting of it a couple of days ago. The sentence is the following:
No thinking allowed.
Whenever I look at this sign, I remember the importance of an empty mind. If the mind is empty, everything else solves itself.
No thoughts = No problems
Most of our problems exist only in our minds. Even if we do have an actual problem, thinking and worrying about it will not solve it. Tending to it with peace will.
There is no situation a calm and empty mind cannot solve. Let life happen with a smile.
Life will happen, whether we obsessively think about it or not. Why not allow it happen with a smile? Sometimes we feel like a situation calls for us to suffer. Truth is, everything can be faced with peace.

You Are Who You Choose To Be
We tend to believe that who we are is set in stone. āThis is who I am,ā we usually say. The truth is, we are who we choose to be in every moment, who we are is never set. We can forget this and believe that we donāt have the ability to act differently. Never believe that who you are is set in stone. Being anxious, mad or sad are temporary emotions. Some might arise in you more than in others, but that doesnāt mean they control you. When a temporary feeling arises in you, you can always choose not to act on it, and all our negative actions stem from temporary emotions.

Donāt Judge - Learn To Love Who You Are
In my experience, the hardest thing to do in life is justĀ be. As humans, we feel the need toĀ doĀ all the time. That is what we heard all our lives - we have to do, we have to achieve, we cannot just be. If we donāt do, we feel like failures. This attitude and thought pattern can lead to a horribly vicious cycle and can infect our lives with unhappiness. What we are doing is setting standards for ourselves; and if we donāt reach these standards, we feel like failures. These standards can come from comparing ourselves to others, who are more successful in our eyes or simply an image of our own selves as we think would be ideal.
This is a very tricky attitude, since it seems like we just want to better ourselves, but in reality what we do is not accept who we are and want to become different people.Ā Read more Ā»>

Stop Worrying - What You Think About is Not Real
I had a realization in the past few weeks and I would like to share it with you all. When we realize something, we donāt really understand how we didnāt know that before and feel kind of stupid. Well, thatās how I feel after realizations anyway. Everything is so clear and simple, but those things are the hardest to see. If you read this blog often, you know that I had my troubles with anxiety and panic. And I thank anxiety and panic for most of my realizations. This strange state of mind taught me so many things. Anxiety, as I said many times before, stems from our thoughts. We have certain negative thoughts in our minds and we think about them so much that we start to fear them, because we believe that they will become real at this point. Read moreĀ»
