"Mommy Will Always Be There To Protect You" - Wanda x Little!Reader (Platonic)
A/N: hi! Omg I'm so happy you requested! I'm so sorry if it's not good, I haven't really written full on drabble in a while but I tried to be quick. I tried to encorperate both of your ideas into one but it might have gotten a bit jumbled at the end. So sorry for that!
She figured it would have been fine if she dozed off with you on the couch, leaving the TV on in the background for its ambiance. That was until she heard your screams.
The channel that usually showed silly cartoons had moved on to midnight horror movies, something you had never been too fond of considering their violent depictions of all the things you had only seen in your nightmares. That in itself was already a not-so-great mix with the thunderstorm brewing outside.
In your fit of panic, you rushed to your room and hid under the bed. You could hear Wanda's tired groans as your cries of distress woke her up with a resounding gasp.
A crackle of thunder from the storm ran a shiver down your spine, hands making their way to your ears to hide from the loud hisses of the wind outside.
You heard Wanda call, the floorboards creaking beneath her feet.
"Honey, where are you..?"
Wanda was always good at finding your hiding places.. but you didn't know that. She saw it fit to play clueless with you, creating somewhat of a playful atmosphere.
"Hm... are you," She paused, opening the doors to your wardrobe using her magic. "In the closet?"
You giggled; the bubbly laughter made your shoulders shake. Partly in fear of the ongoing storm, partly in how you were immersed in the small hide-and-seek game you suddenly found yourself playing.
The loud bang forced yet another scream from you. Wanda crouched down before the bed, looking under it to ensure your general safety.
"Oh, baby, come here.." she was quick to end the game, holding her arms out for you to crawl out and hug her. She hugged you back, her embrace warm as you sobbed in her arms.
"It's okay.." Wanda cooed to you quietly, rubbing soothing circles on your back. "Mommy's here.."
You choked on your sobs, holding her tighter as the wind howled more vigorously at you from outside.
"There was so much blood, Mommy.." You whispered, burying your face in her chest to wipe your tears.
"Where, baby, where was the blood?" Wanda responded, brushing your hairs fly away from your face when you looked up at her to answer.
"The screen, Mommy, the screen!"
Wanda gave a small 'shhh' when you started to cry again at the memory.
"It wasn't real, darling, it was just a movie."
Your jaw dropped at the statement, it was fake? But it looked so genuine!
"It wasn't? But.." your voice wavered as it trailed off, gripping the hem of Wanda's shirt to hold her impossibly closer.
"No, honey. I'd never let anything like that happen to--or around you." Wanda comforted, cupping your cheeks and shaking her head dismissively. "I'll always be here to protect you.."
