Note: It’s legit been a fxcking year and I’m feeling way better. I really hope y'all enjoy this. But I’d like to clear something up. Make a Scene might be continuing, but I’m not certain. Also, I know literally nothing about ballet.

The New York City dance scene was nothing short of spectacular. Every dancer was the nicest, most sincere person, but still competitive to get the best parts. You had dance troupes from every brough trying to wiggle, well dance, their way into the biggest company, The Avengers.
That company was originally called SHIELD DANCE. The change came when dance routines were leaked and other companies began to take their titles. The dancers who fought for their spot and stayed through the tough time had made the decision to call themselves ‘The Avengers’. The name was because they had to take back their reputation, to avenge the loss of years of hard work.
You were one of the leaders of The Avengers, mentoring younger dancers and helping choreograph dances. It was a good position for someone trying to become the title role of Cinderella. The ballet was going to be holding auditions in two days and stress was setting in. There were five fierce competitors for Cinderella, you, Natasha, Wanda, from The Avengers, and Nakia and Okoye from Wakanda Dance. All wonderful dancers, but only the best would make it out on top. You were a complete nervous wreck, but you held it in.
When you got to the studio at about 5 am on Thursday morning, the only light that was on was the flickering foyer light that needed to be replaced. No other soul, other than the owner Nick Fury, was there. The cold wind bit at your nose and ears as you hurried into the building. You flipped the light switches to the on position, light flooding into the studio.
The hardwood floor was pristine and glistening, the cleanliness was soon to be ruined by an upwards of two hundred dancers for the next 15 hours. It felt almost sacrilegious to be the first to break in the daily renewed floor. But it had to be done. You sat on the floor while you put on your pointe shoes.
The front door had opened and shut loudly, announcing the arrival of your co-leaders. You stood up to see who all was there. James, aka Bucky, was one of your best friends. He was so sweet, caring, and an amazing dancer. He was accompanied by Steve and Natasha, bringing in a light-hearted vibe with them. “Y/N! So good to see you!” Steve rushed to you, scooping you up in a hug. “I’m sorry I missed you the last few days!”
“Good morning Stevie. You shouldn’t feel bad for coming later, it’s all good.” You hugged back and then moved to greet Natasha.
It was almost 9 am when Mr. Fury had interrupted your practice with Bucky. You two needed to perfect the duet you planned on using for the auditions. Nick looked concerned and slightly in pain. “Steve’s down.”
That’s all that needed to be said before the Brooklyn boy bolted out of the back studio and into the main foyer. You followed close behind, worrying deeply about your good friend. When you finally came to a halt, you saw Steve laying on the ground as the resident doctor checked him out.
Bucky was on his knees next to his best friend, holding his hand to show support. “What’s the news, doc?” You knew Bucky would cry if the injury was really serious.
The dark haired woman smiled. “It’s just a hyperextension of his ankle. Nothing too bad, just ice it, stay off it for a day or two, and you’ll be better in no time.” The doctor wrapped Steve’s ankle with an ace bandage and helped him up. “No dancing for the rest of the day.” And with that, she left.
The little crowd that had formed around you began to disperse. You helped Bucky bring Steve into Nick’s office, being as careful as you could. Steve sat on the overstuffed couch, resting his ankle on the armrest. “I’ll take you home when Bucky and I am done.” You offered, placing your hand on his shoulder.
“Okay, I’ll you pay gas money.” You gave him a little kiss on the forehead and went back to practicing.
You got to the small practice room and started to stretch. The music was still playing on repeat, soon to be restarting. When you got in the ready position, Bucky came behind you, holding your hands as they were held above your head.
The first downbeat hit and the romance flared like a fire. The two of you spun and leaped your way through the dance. Your toes keeping you high and alert. If you had a choice in the choreography, you would be kissing Bucky at least four times, but it was up to the two of you and judges really didn’t like public displays of affection.
However, you kept your head high and spirits higher. Bucky spun you around, quickly releasing you into a quartet of turns. Your skirt floated around you, looking like something out of a movie. When you came to a halt, Bucky pulled you into a slow turn. You looked into his gorgeous blue eyes and his eyes exhibited love and affection. Your eyes darted to his pink, plump lips and back to his eyes.
Bucky’s lips had connected with yours out of sheer tension. It was a dream for the three seconds you had kissed. The only thing that brought you out of your trance was the clapping and wolf whistles that came from the doorway.
Almost have of the dance company was there, even the little children Wanda taught. “Now that’s what I call a duet!” Steve said, leaning on the door frame. A chorus of hell yeahs followed, and you started to blush.
“You know doll, I like you,” Bucky confessed, a matching blush creeping on his face.
