I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is

I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.

Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.

The writers are joining in on this, too. They reunited Arin and Sora in season 3 just to separate them again in season 4 part 1. And that's when we get Airjitzu (Arin/Euphrasia) and Techtonic (Sora/Frak) moments. It seems as if this separation was a deliberate choice not just for the plot but also to develop the two ships --- one reason being that Arin and Sora's strong bond might get in the way. No wonder why, at least to me, Airjitzu and Techtonic being shipped in the show seemed forced, more so for Airjitzu because Techtonic had prior development in the previous two seasons. (Also, the implied romantic attraction between these characters is painfully obvious, but perhaps I'm biased on that because I'm a slow-burn enjoyer.)

Arin and Sora are supposed to be "together forever." Even the first two seasons of NDR established that by having them be the central characters, letting them do stuff together, and having them rely on each other for emotional support. But if the writers keep separating them, then what's the point? Maybe the point is they don't have to constantly be together to be "together forever," and that what they've learned from their relationship with each other is what helps them to form meaningful bonds outside of theirs. But those bonds don't need to be romantic. Seriously.

I'm not saying, however, that Airjitzu and Techtonic have bad relationship dynamics, because those are actually the things that have us as an audience hooked on them and the show as a whole. (And I'm not throwing shade to Euphrasia or Frak, either. I think they're both great characters individually and I'm glad we got more of them in the first part of this season.) But I digress.

I like techtonic and airjitzu shipping in theory but I'm also disappointed that Ninjago's still putting all their main characters in hetero ships that really don't do much for the overall plot. It's not rushed and I like that in both cases the relationships feel really natural but with how increasingly progressive Ninjago's been lately I was hoping we were done with the unnecessary romaces. If the writers want to do romance plotlines, they're already doing a lot of Jaya, a decent amount of Pixane, and geode is very heavily implied.
