Ā Ā Ā jayce wiggles his fingers until they align into the spaces left by taeilās. the pause may seem perfectly ordinary ā a teasing lull in conversation to have the other hanging onto his every word ā but, truthfully, itās more so that he can catch his breath. he hadnāt really expected things to progress to a point where heād have a pretty boyās face tucked warmly into the crook of his neck and, frankly, heās excited by it. his heartās picked up the pace though thereās still enough space between him to shield his reactions from being noticeable.Ā āgood,ā he purrs with a bashful smile thatās half practiced, half genuine,Ā āi was hoping you would be.ā he leans his weight towards taeil, enough so that their shoulders brush intentionally.Ā āyouāre holding my attention just fine,ā he praises in a lowered voice, the public nature of the beach feeling far more exposed than it had minutes ago.Ā ānot sure if itās new or not. most of my⦠friends arenāt so forward with their thoughts on the matter. in fact, we tend not to do much sharing aloud at all.ā this time, when his head tips coyly, itās onto taeilās shoulder but lightly, as if to ask permission.Ā āi like knowing you want my attention.ā
If Taeil is a bit too forward, then certainly heās alwaysĀ been that way; he remembers being a child and getting a crush on the boy next door, and the only way he could find to express it was to gift him his own bike. Grand gestures are sort of his thing, and he doesnāt do things in half-measures because he finds them to be woefully boring. There isnāt an exception to be found, even when hisĀ āgesturesā --- as grand as they may be --- are sort of what have made him end up in this position. Then again, over the course of he last five minutes or so, his position has become a great deal more favorableĀ at that. Maybe he shouldnāt overthink it. Maybe he should just keep doing what heās always done.Ā āYour hands are small.ā Taeil notes, just a little hint of a dimple denting in one of his cheeks. He doesnāt say it as a bad thing, of course, but as an endearingĀ one. Heās endeared by it, and heās endeared by how Violet leans into his space, giving him the leeway needed to know that what heās doing isnāt too much after all. Shifting his position a bit, he more than allows for the way the other person rests his head on his shoulder, and he canāt help but bite back a small laugh.Ā āI wouldnāt call that a friendship.ā Itās needless to say, but presented with a wry sarcasm that gives it away for what it is, so thatās fine.Ā āI get the feeling youāre using the term loosely, and I respect that, but if weāre going to be friendsĀ --- well.ā He cuts off, not finishing the thought just yet.
