Happy New Year, Tumblr! I started off the year not as exciting as others did, but I had my little moments too. I have set new goals and I have also emotionally prepared myself to fail so much this year. I'm ready. Ready to take on the many responsibilities I wish I had done in the past years, but choose not to because I wanted to be a couch tomato for the most part. And yes, I purposely wrote tomato because it sounds lit. 🤣🤗 I hope I learn more along the way and grow into a much better individual. I'm sort of tired being my usual awkward self, and don't get me wrong, I sincerely and deeply appreciate that. However, time to make more changes and I wish I go successful with them. Also recently, I've been into romance movies. I've been to the chilliest movie marathon of my life, not to mention that I got to spent it with the one and only me. Doesn't sound too happy, not too sad either. But it was chill. Just what I needed to make my winter break stress free. I should be stressing and working on scholarships and all these pre-college work, but I'm choosing to stray away from the entirety of it. Not sorry though, I think I've done a pretty fair share in the past months. I want to do more, but we deserve a very short break sometimes and enjoy the moment without overthinking and stressing about how much of a pessimist you are. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I'm so pumped for 2017 though. There's so much productivity involved. I'm looking forward to getting certified as a nursing assistant this year and hopefully work part-time in the summer while familiarizing myself further with Anatomy and Physiology. Mentioning these doesn't even make me look smart at all, but I like to think it's a good way to prepare for college. I just don't want to overwhelm myself because I really want to balance work and school. It just doesn't feel okay anymore to always depend on your parents. I hate feeling ungrateful and I feel like this usually stems from my poor choices. So that's definitely a good resolution. I'm bad at resolutions, but that's something to throw onto my list this year. Another long overdue goal I wish I had fulfilled my junior year is getting my driver's license. It never fails to make me cringe when I think about it, but it's not the end of the world is it? I'm getting there. I will get there this year. Trust. Roll it up with determination and positivity. Boom. Success. And that's about it. No. I've also been thinking about entering the youtube family, but I'm afraid to stay committed. I feel like it's not the perfect time to do it, but I also feel like it is. Weird. There are major surprises this year though. I know that for sure. We'll see. It's so easy to jot all these down, but it's always complicated to gain all the inspiration you need in real life. I just wish I'll have a much better attitude this year to make good things happen... also to accept the bad things whole-heartedly and extract something beautiful out of them. Surprisingly, I’ve read 2 amazingly written books in just a matter of 1 full week! I’d never imagined myself accomplishing something like that, but I guess, I have to give all the credits to the fact that we’ve gone over 90% our internet data and just to prevent my mom from going on a tirade, I’ve decided to devote myself to reading. (idk if this does something to our usage, im kinda sneaky) For the purpose of this post, I’m going to share a quote from each book which basically stood out to me. I think these quotes do a successful job giving you brief summaries of what the two will entail. ——— Eleanor and Park ——— “I just can’t believe that life would give us to each other,’ he said `and then take it back.’ 
‘I can,’ she said. ‘Life’s a bastard.’
He held her tighter, and pushed his face into her neck.
‘But it’s up to us …’ he said softly. ‘It’s up to us not to lose this.” Fact: I don’t care if a book’s too cheezy and all, as long as it connects to a teen’s life, I’m all for it. So for this one, I thought it was challenging for the author to shift from one point of view to another, but all her hard work definitely paid off! I loved how this book contains basically two different stories about two different people; one thing that connects them? They are both relatable. I sort of didn’t like the idea that Eleanor and Park were paralleling the relationship Romeo and Juliet had. If you haven’t read that one, which I assume you won’t because it’s written by the wonderful & baffling Shakespeare, the two basically fall in love with each other so fastly they haven’t even gotten the sweet opportunity to know each other well. Rowell’s book is different, however, I felt like her characters fell in love with each other way too easily which obviously did not impress me that much. The superb thing though, the author provides a plethora of beautiful quotes here – There were a couple of points where I had to snap it shut so I could highlight some because I can see myself saying those once I enter a relationship – (perhaps relatively similar to theirs. I’m thrilled no jk kinda). So, if you’re searching for an easy read, you have to give this a shot. I feel sorry that I didn’t get to read this as early as possible, but basically the story details about a high school romance and it also covers issues regarding living with a family. I thought the author did a nice job revealing why the two crucial characters behave the way they do. Great great job, Rowell! 4/5 for this baby! 🙂 ——-Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children——- “Sometimes it’s better not to look back.” In today’s culture, this one sounds slightly cliché, but it best describes how Jacob’s adventure started. He had almost an insatiable desire to find answers for himself and maybe he wouldn’t have felt that way if he hadn’t witnessed something so PECULIAR. Bruh, I would’ve done the same if I were him! I was deeply hooked by his journey, because somehow, it’s got a Peter Pan vibe into it – which is kind of strange, but it’s probably just me. I like how the author also gives us a hint of a love story here – perhaps to give us a pause from the mystery behind Jacob’s grandfather. But! Their love story is very unique because it’s not the typical romance we see on T.V. or read about – at some point you’ll realize it shouldn’t be a relationship one should enter in, but regardless, I had the feels of it! One thing that I sort of did not like was how unrealistic the conversation Jacob and his dad had towards the end, but it wasn’t as if the author had meant this to be fully realistic in the first place — duh this is a peculiar book what more should I expect. I wasn’t even expecting for that scene to be a possible event, however, it would’ve looked more realistic and (I guess cooler) if the author added more details about how Jacob’s parents (father) might have felt about the little discoveries he found from day to day (and from what was supposed to be there “therapeutic move“). Overall, this one falls more into the adventure category and I loved it just as much as I loved the book above! 4/5 Might read the second book some time soon! Right now, I like to fall from one story to another just to gain different perspectives and feelings that I may or may not connect to my daily real life events. That’s just how it is. 🙂 Up next: Thirteen Reasons Why (I wanted to read this during my sophomore year because my English teacher was reading it, but I’d ultimately lost the inspiration to - but now’s a perfect time to dig into it!) Just a little note, I’m in need of book recommendations, so if you could offer some help, that’d be over the top awesome. Optimistic Keeps Me Hopeful People want you to be optimistic so you start relying on what you feel is certain. You start sticking a beautiful image on your mind to the point of wanting nothing else but that to happen. I pictured you and I dancing together, mindless of what we really are but it all ended up shattered. It's as if life treated it like the piece of paper I have jotted down wrong things on: it was worth-ripping. I wish people were a little more cautious when they want you to be positive because really, it ain't easy when there is another alternative. People are easily tempted to pursue things they are fond of and in my case? I loved you. However, you had your own image and it contrasted with mine. What I thought was a high possibility of perfection is now pure devastation and every time I think about it I whisper to myself: Breathe pal, learn the art of not losing touch with your reality — it is less painful.

Anyways, let me aesthetically please your eyes with pretty skies even just for a second. It’s 3:30 in the morning and I’m feeling nostalgic about the trip I had last month! It was phenomenal & I can’t wait to go back.
