Minecraft response 3
Building our very own map in Minecraft has definitely not been the ideal situation I thought it would be. Like for example, I thought it would be fun to do since I played the game before, but apparently it’s not all that fun when you’re actually creating something for other people to play. There is a lot of things you need to think about when you are making the game for others to play, for example, you will have to consider what the player will be thinking when they’re within the game, what will work as well as what might confuse them, and will they like what we’ve created? It is definitely not easy when you’re trying to satisfy someone who you don’t know.
Programing the game itself was rewarding once everything is in working order, but anything before that, is just a bunch of time consuming periods that repeats itself in an endless cycle. But with the feed back we got earlier this week it was definitely helpful. For example, we were told that our game was hard to play due to the fact that players do not know where they should be going since we didn’t set a limit on where they could not reach. So as a result to that response, we did a lot of fencing within our map to make the game much more linear than before, so hopefully now everything can go according to what our group had in mind in where the player(s) should and can go.
Working with my assigned group has definitely been interesting, since we all have to find the perfect time for one another, and it was not easy since we all have exams and work to do. But in the end we made everything work, each one of us all did our shares and created the map we all have envisioned.
