Central idea:

— Marie grew up in a wealthy family; her mother was the only one who pressured her to be perfect. Marie was a woman who always wanted to have children but was never able to—first, because she was infertile, and second, because, strangely, she felt repulsed by men. So she spent years of her life pretending that this didn’t affect her, yet she felt a bitter envy towards any woman with children.

Personality;

—Controlling, affectionate, possessive, apathetic toward adults, punctual, routine-oriented, a good mother, protective, down-to-earth, and religious (Catholic).

Arc:

—She wants to cover up the wound of her infertility by being a “perfect” woman; she tries to justify all her flaws and hide her imperfections from others. She starts out wanting to be helpful, but then realizes this is turning into an obsession. She offers to babysit the squee while his parents are traveling, spends quality time with him, and when she realizes that his parents could return at any moment—and she’d have to go back to her own home—she schemes to prevent them from coming back and taking the squee away from her.
