Who I was
As a little girl I remember how care free I was. I was outgoing, always laughing and being goofy, and making others laugh.
One specific memeory involves me and a friend i had in grade school. Her name was Hannah and we rode the school bus together. Every evening on our ride home, we would sit across the isle together and I remember how much we would laugh. I was always doing something so goofy. A crazy face, a silly noise, or telling jokes. Whatever it was, I felt like we laughed the entire bus ride home every single day.
But, as I mentioned before, the thing we call life happened. The things like bullying which steals a child's happiness and confidence or peer pressure and a number of other things that steal the innocence.
Whatever it looks like, it continues to happen to children. Year after year.
We marvel at kids and their innocence. Their kind hearts that see only the good. The care free souls who always seem to be able to have fun. We envy to have that back.
I know I do. I miss that little girl. I miss that personality. That could easily laugh, make others laugh, have fun, and make friends.
For every person, life and the events that occur and take away that child inside all of us is going to look different.
So how did mine look as a child you ask?

Who I've become
My name is Desiree. I am 24 years old, engaged, and have two sons. Jameson who is 2 and Jensen who is almost 10 months.
I feel as if we always introduce ourselves by saying, "this is who I am.", but to be quite honest, I'm not sure who I REALLY am.
It seems as if we are born and our creator has a plan for us, but then life happens, as it tends to do for every person on this Earth and then we are molded slightly here and there throughout the years to someone new.
For me, I can't help but wonder who I REALLY am. What if life had happened perfectly or a different way, a better way. Keep in mind though, I do not wish to change my life as it is now. I am blessed with a beautiful family, but for now I'm on a quest to repair the wings that have become beaten and battered over my childhood years, live out my full potential and figure out who I REALLY am or better yet, what my "calling" is.
So for now, the answer to who I've become, is a mom. I'm a mom on a quest to change your outlook and views on what normal looks like. Repairing my wings and learning to fly. To prove to myself and many others that we don't have to play the cards we've been dealt. We have so many ther options!
As they say, birds of a feather flock together.
I'll be sharing more of my part story right here in the coming weeks! Follow me and stay tuned.
