Never a cliche…always another angle to photograph

Arrived at the Eiffle Tower in late afternoon…under rain clouds, and lead skys. I have visited it many times, and it always thrills me. For Nan, it was her first view. As an accomplished and artistic photographer, she was inspired from every angle. As the sky’s cleared…and the night sky darkened, the golden lights brushed it with magic. If you cross the river and dodge the hoards…you can frame it in so many different ways. Nan spotted an old houseboat,tied up by the edge of the river…and it sported a small replica of the Statue of Liberty, which as you may know was a gift to us from the people in France. We were able to walk down onto the quay and include her silhouette, in some of our pictures.

On the hour…we were treated to the sparkling light show which was a bit Disney-esque…but none-the-less, entertaining. We reversed course, and walked across the bridge to continue the “photo session.” Finally walking under, and through, toward the Champs de Mars, and beyond. A beautiful meal,outdoors, in a very Parisienne restaurant, completed the day.

This beautiful little Victorian-style purse, found at the porte de Vanves flea market in France…and repurposed into a dramatic neckpiece,…is now in the possession of a lovely lady who braved the weather at the Corvallis Fall Festival.
