The ambience of the bar was familiar, grounding the former hunter in the sounds of Joan Jett, belches, and obnoxious flirting from overly emboldened men; alcohol was a thing of wonders. Normally that would be him: getting into the game, laying it on thick with the chicks, but that night he could barely bring himself to look at anyone. He was rolling with the Biblical motions and punches that had been thrown his way, but moving on was easier said than done. Losing Sammy left him listless, bottle to bottle even though his brother would have torn him a new one for acting that way. What did it matter? He wasn’t around to do so.

Slouched over the bar, he barely touched his burger, but was on his third beer within a half hour, no buzz taking hold regardless of how much he drowned his woes. Someone sat down beside him, smelly dude with clothing that would make Elvis jealous. “Vegas is about a thousand miles in the opposite direction, pal.” Dean grunted, glancing at the man with a lopsided smirk.

When he received no response, he shrugged, nursing his bottle once again as he stared at his food. “Tough crowd.” He muttered to himself, though someone else flanked him now, which was getting a bit weird and stuffy considering there were plenty of other stools free. This one caught his eye, though. Pretty, All-American blonde. Maybe it was time to flex his A-game after all considering he was shirked by Elvis.

“Elvis here wanted a little less conversation; how about you? A little more action?” He asked, smirking at the woman.

     Even after Sunnydale’s fall the Slayer still couldn’t find it within herself to live a normal apple pie kind of life. There were demons and monsters all around the world that still terrorized and killed humans. No longer was she stuck in one area - she was able to go anywhere she was needed. Picking up a few contacts during her travels had proven to her advantage. Case in point , the bar she had been asked to check out. It’s become a popular little place where unexpecting humans had been coming up missing. The last place they could be tracked back to was here ....

     One step inside the bar and her spidey senses were all already tingling. The place carried a stench of beer , which was to be expected. What wasn’t expected was the overwhelming smell of death. Something the Slayer’s senses were very keen to. Her eyes directing her to the handsome gentleman sitting at the bar enjoying himself a drink. The reason her eyes landed on him .. was the vampire sitting next to him. She makes her way to the bar and is a little shocked at the gentleman’s statement .. then again she was in a bar.
