Natasha hates the Hollanders ???
Shane is dead, not public information yet. And everyone is grieving obviously. Ilya wants to kill himself and Yuna and David are so freaking worried about loosing another son, timeline is 5 years of Shane in Ottowa. Yuna gets a mail, from Jessica, Shane's high school ex. She has details about Natasha her daughter, the file has pictures, dna, and a letter that says, she didn't know the child was Shane's, she got another boyfriend and really really liked him, so when she found out she was pregnant she just assumed it was her new boyfriend's (if she had any doubts she didn't mention it), they were in love so got married and moved. Everything came crashing down when her husband was gifted dna test kits for Christmas and they found out Natasha is not related to her father and he flipped a switch, and gave an ultimatum, she needs to save her marriage so she wants the Hollanders to take Natasha in, she and her husband technically loves the child but not enough so she's basically abandoning the poor teenager.
Yuna doesn't tell anyone until she's handled almost everything, when she lets Ilya in he cries his eyes out and they are set to take the trip to meet natasha, she's with her aunt right now. From here it's a paternal love story between Ilya and his teenage daughter.
Ilya, who has lost the centre of his universe, the one person who mattered, who he did everything for, including breathing, who just left Ilya behind after promising wrinkles and matching canes, like Ilya meant nothing. It was not Shane's choice, it was an awful accident, unlike his mother, but is the process important if the result is the same ? Ilya was left behind, once again, all alone by that one person, what else matters ? Except he finds out that he's not alone, there is someone equally? no, more, way more vulnerable and in need of support out there. Something? someone of Shane, does she have Shane's freckles??? His beautiful brown eyes ? His hair ? He refused to see the pictures before the ride so he doesn't know, it doesn't matter now does it. She's all alone and so is he !!!!!
Natasha who's grieving not only the father who raised her with love and care but now despises even the sight of her, her mother who's responsible for this mess but is abandoning her for her husband, her life in Vancouver?, her friends, everything she has ever known. To top it off she's also grieving the loss of her biological father she never knew existed who everyone keeps telling her, would have loved her with all his heart if he was allowed to.
Natasha who is mad at her mom, mad at her dad, mad at this guy named Ilya Rozanov for trying so hard, when HE'S her NO-ONE, he's not even related to her, Yuna and David fussing she can forgive but why does he fucking care if she had eaten, how is she doing, does she like her room and that she's not talking in therapy. He's just like dad, her real dad who wants nothing to do with her because she's not related to him, Ilya is or he was married to her biological parent, he doesn't even know her so why does it feels like there is noone on this planet he loves more than her
She's mad at the universe for keeping this beautiful side of her family from her for so long that she feels like a total outsider, she doesn't belong here, except now she does.
And to throw in another joke Rose fucking Landry, her idol, her inspiration is sitting across the room looking at her like she is holding the starts and the moon, like she wants to be her godmother Waoo this is so weird. Everything about her life is weird, when it was nothing like this. She was boring, sure she wanted to become an actress but that's about it. What's going on really? Is this a fucking dream ??
