Bringing Savvy Back

Hearing the knock at the door, Savvy raced to the door but Stella was faster. Her twin flung open the door to reveal Savvy’s date, Blair. He was so attractive that just thinking about him made Savvy’s stomach do backflips. “Holy shi-” Stella tried to say before was elbowed out of the way, making room for Savvy to make her way to the doorway. “Bye, Stel.” She called, pulling the door closed behind her before slipping her arm around Blair’s.

She couldn’t believe this was happening. It had been such a long time since she said been on a date which a boy as cute and sweet as Blair. Her last relationship wasn’t anything special and before that…she didn’t like to think about it. “That fair sounds like a blast.” She answered, “We have to ride the ferris wheel too.”

Her arm in his just felt… right. And it was a feeling Blair wasn’t accustomed to, but he was already loving it. “We can do anything you want, Savvy. Tonight, my job it to make you smile.” When they stepped out of the building, he took a breath, biting his lip. “I have to apologize. I am not allowed to drive in the United States. Something about us driving on the ‘wrong side of the road’ in Ireland.” He chuckled quietly. “Would you prefer the subway, or a taxi?” He looked down at her, heart skipping a beat again. She really was just absolutely stunning. 

For once in his life, Blair was nervous for a date. He’d never been nervous to go out with a girl before, but… there was something about Savvy that had him on edge. He wanted to make this work. She was sweet, and kind, and funny, and absolutely gorgeous. And he didn’t want to move too fast, or scare her off. So, he planned something innocent, something easy and fun. At half-past six that night, he pulled his jacket on and headed across campus towards Savvy’s apartment. When he walked up, Blair glanced as his watch. 6:50. He was early. Pacing outside the building, he waited 5 minutes before heading up. Precisely 6:58 when he knocked on the door and waited anxiously. But then she was answering the door, and all those nerves melted away. 

“By the gods, you look… stunning,” he murmured, lips curling up in a smile. “Are you ready to go, beauty?” Blair offered his arm to her, eyes glittering warmly. “I was thinking we could go to the fair. Ride the subway over, get something to eat, maybe play some games and explore? Unless you wanted to do something else.”

Reading is one of my favorite past times. But ice tubs? Sounds…cold. Obviously its cold. Wow. I’m going to stop talking now. 

They can be cold, yeah. But they help with soreness.
