The real horror is that everyone just hugs it out
The real horror is that you're meant to agree with the reality where everyone just hugs it out and is true to themselves and even when things are horrible you're supposed to act like it's fine
SORRY BUT YOUR PASSWORD MUST CONTAIN ONE NUMBER, ONE CAPITAL LETTER, THE COW AS WHITE AS MILK, THE CAPE AS RED AS BLOOD, THE HAIR AS YELLOW AS CORN, AND THE SLIPPER AS PURE AS GOLD
I love how color can tell a story. In this case, it reflects the way I tend to see colors within colors, layers unfolding into more layers, endlessly connected, just like life and the universe itself. Everything contains something else, and every small detail is part of a much larger story.
Maybe that’s also why childhood memories feel so vivid to me. As a child, the world is experienced through all lenses at once, with fewer filters and less judgement and a heightened sense of awareness. Sounds, smells, colors, textures, and sensations are all felt more intensely, not necessarily because they carry a specific meaning, but because they are so immediate and alive.

they're trying to get me to do something called ""my job"" instead of reading about medieval english poaching laws
making a pilgrimage to tumblr & getting conned by a blogger claiming to sell scraps of the shroud of pjackk
Remember when mike flanagan changed the last lines of haunting of hill house from “whatever walked there, walked alone” (deranged, gorgeous, suggestive of a solitude so complete it’s like a companionship) to “whatever walked there, walked together” (stupid, grammatically awkward, hallmark channel original) and we let him live to tell the tale #throwingup #vomit #blood #killmike #prodeathpenalty #mikeflanagandeath
What if you were the Kray Twins at the fair looking at a bottled specimen of conjoint twins and one of you thinks the spectacle of them is vile but you think they're awesome
Damnit. Mystery Flesh Pit guy uses AI.
really funny (in a bad way) that the AI is the part of this anyone gives a shit about
ohhh you don’t like that i’ve used AI? well, i’ve killed people. checkmate, liberals.

The flower of stone and the rain dragon
I’ve been watching a lot of British folk horror lately and was reminded of Ashton’s general vibes (not merely because of his likeness to certain horned gods) the cryptic and unnerving nature of the character Fisher from the Play for Today ep, Robin Redbreast (1970) was similarly discerning (if somewhat more menacing). Does Ashton ever experiment with film making in his art process?
Oh absolutely he does. The camera would most likely be something he finds at the old junk shop he works part time at... something like this :)
And what he would make with it would be stuff that, if found today, would probably end up on one of those annoying "top 5" YouTube horror compilations...
(Also I got around to watching Robin Redbreast and
Hunt for shirts? In my garden?)
a piece from the next AP update
Read the Comic here!
it's funny how all the movies from the '70s and '80s (and even some from the '90s!) just assumed that smog would get worse and worse until the earth (or at least LA) was perpetually shrouded in smoke, then the government banned smog and it went away; incredible really.
Acid rain went from being a pollution disaster to an environmental success story. How did scientists manage to prove that acid rain existed,
similarly "acid rain" was a genuinely devastating problem that was solved, eventually, by banning it! turns out you can just do things.

"Whimsy" is truly a wretched term. What maketh thee so carefree?

Art thou for fucking real
imho when you have 200,000,000 olfactory receptors and perceive the world predominantly by smell you probably don’t have to press your cold wet nose directly against my bare skin to get a good whiff of where I’ve been
You probably already know this (and I know this is a joke post), but the touching may be direct absorption into the vomeronasal organ!
The vomeronasal organ is probably why a dog’s nose is wet. Most animals with vomeronasal organs have wet noses, too. It is difficult for an airborne odor to land squarely on the vomeronasal organ, since it is situated in a safe, dark interior recess of the face. A hearty sniff not only brings molecules into the dog’s nasal cavity; little molecular bits also stick onto the moist exterior tissue of the nose. Once there, they can dissolve and travel to the vomeronasal organ through interior ducts. When your dog nuzzles against you, he is actually collecting your odor on his nose: better to confirm that you’re you. In this way, dogs double their methods of smelling the world.
— Alexandria Horowitz, Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know (2009)
