day 1 - “Kindle” by Tevva
Hello everyone, welcome to my fresh blog!! to kick tings off I’m gonna bust out the most obscure stuff I’ve got. today’s song is “Kindle,” the titular track of Tevva’s debut EP. From what I understand, Tevva is a one-man band, the man being a pleasant dude named Seth Russell. I met him after he somehow found my tiny twitter; I checked out his page, saw this group, and fell in love p quickly. I was actually fortunate enough to have a conversation with him, and I found out that this is his first project.
Kindle is generally a progressive metal EP, but with influences of melodic and power metal, which makes it a very refreshing listen. I understand that the descriptor of “metal” will turn a lot of people off from music, but Tevva deserves a shot. “Kindle” especially is more melodic than most prog metal I’m used to, and the power metal influences only make it more upbeat and enjoyable. It also has a kind of poppy overtone, and while it may have loud guitars, is still quite listenable and catchy.
So, I suggest you give it a shot! If it’s not your jam, don’t worry; metal isn’t the only thing I listen to!! I listen to a lot of different genres, so I’ll do my best to spice it up from day to day and avoid back-to-back posts of similar genres. Either way, I hope you enjoy this great jam, and I hope you have a great day! <3
