Realized that the true key to Defiant Bride, particularly as Warrior of Light, the secret at her very core that makes her who she is, is that she wants to be the Warrior of Light. Sometimes... I see a take on FFXIV where it becomes really clear that the person sharing it has been tricked by the game's western fantasy trappings and English dub into forgetting that it is actually developed by Japanese people in Japan. Like, they'll spend time analyzing things but they have completely forgotten to consider that Japan isn't America and might be using different cultural references. And then I read them and it drives me insane.
