We were under the covers, skin to skin. You pulled the blanket towards you, and I inched closer so I could join in. You gently pulled me too; I willingly slid onto your arms, squeezed my legs between yours, and held onto your nape because your head was safely on my chest. Then and there I was wondering if you could hear my heart whisper that I don’t want this to end. You had your hands on the arch of my back, mine was softly ruffling your hair, and sometimes I would close my eyes with a heavy sigh before losing myself in its soft layers. Your breath is caught warm on my collar, and every time you did I could paint into many poems how your body relaxes, and expands to let air in. To breathe in. To be here. To still be alive. And sometimes I still can’t believe I’m here to experience moments like these with you.

I’ve never been so scared of losing someone in my entire life, then again nothing in my life has ever meant as much to me as you do.
