Things that altered my brain chemistry in the Infinity Castle movie - "Akaza returns"
- Gyomei carrying the responsibility for the Master's plan alone because no other Hashira would have accepted it.
- Muichiro remembering Kagaya staying next to him when he was hurt and calling him his father with tears in his eyes (he s only a child)
- How clearly we could hear Shinobu's bones break and her lungs filling up with blood.
- Kanae's voice when she ordered her to get up.
- Zenitsu waiting just a bit before using his 7th form, hoping that Kaigaku would at least regret what he did. Hoping to catch a glimpse of the brother he respected in him before killing him.
- Zenitsu calling him "Aniki" (older brother) and apologizing before taking his head.
- "Zenitsu, you are my pride and joy"
- Kanao's bloodcurdling scream when she saw Shinobu dead, limp in Douma's arms.
- Akaza's entrance and Tanjiro sensing his presence before actually seeing him.
- Giyuu managing to catch Tanjiro just before he hit the floor and died.
- "you'll have to get through me first before you kill Tanjiro !"
- Shinobu showing how angry she actually was after so much time wearing the same smile on her face
- Muichiro and Gyomei cutting through entire buildings of the Infinity Castle together.
- the lower ranked demon slayers grouping around the Hashira to clear their path to Uppermoon demons and Muzan himself.
- Kiriya taking charge of the Corps, and Kagaya guiding him gently with his spirit
- Kiriya not allowing his sister not even one second of grieving when her eyes filled with tears. There was no time for it then.
- everyone having a role to play together - even the crows, the retired Hashira and the Kakushi.
- Giyuu dragging Akaza through multiple buildings of the Infinity Castle even before awakening his mark
- Giyuu immediately forcing himself up to his feet again, after being dragged to hell and back, when Akaza tried to turn to Tanjiro and kill him.
- Even while Tanjiro was passed out, Giyuu using the last of his strength to attack and take full on hits from Akaza so he didn't have the chance to step closer to him.
- "Don't die, Giyuu..." (his crow pleading with him at the end messed me up the worst)
- Tanjiro tearing up when he heard the news of Shinobu's death.
- Muichiro asking Gyomei about the Master first thing after falling into the castle.
- Obanai immediately telling Mitsuri to calm down and to hold hands so they don't separate when they fall.
- Hakuji's scream when he saw Keizo and Koyuki dead.
- His promise to protect Koyuki and then the next frame being him hugging her dead body to his chest while crying.
- Akaza saying "i have to kill that useless person" , then killing himself and refusing to let his body regenerate. He was begging for death by that point.
- Koyuki choosing to go to hell with him. Calling him "my dear" the way a wife calls her husband.
- Giyuu immediately trying to reach Tanjiro after the battle, but finally collapsing next to him perched on his sword.
- Tanjiro's father using the Hinokami Kagura (his version of it) to kill the bear before it got to their family.
- Tanjiro's eyes lighting up like Yoriichi's when he finally unlocked the See-through world.
- Obanai telling Mitsuri they were going to do the same after hearing Giyuu and Tanjiro defeated Uppermoon 3, both of them not knowing what was actually next.
- even if he hated him, Obanai thinking "congratulations, Tomioka," after hearing he survived and won the battle.
- Murata actually insisting that Yushiro take good care of Zenitsu, even while being spooked by him being a demon.
- seeing the difference between the rudimentary Water Breathing tehnique used by Murata and the actual mastered tehnique used by Giyuu (and Tanjiro).
- Giyuu taking the full hits for Tanjiro when not even "Dead Calm" could fully work anymore.
- Tanjiro saving Giyuu just as he almost died the same way Rengoku did - with Akaza's fist through his torso.
- Giyuu, who didn't think he was worthy before, being called the strongest Water Hashira he has ever encountered by Akaza. (He was fully locked in)
- even if Tanjiro was as strong as a Hashira by that point, the way they depicted how Giyuu was still more experienced and syncronized to Tanjiro's attacks perfectly, like guiding him.
- the way they also depicted the difference between lower ranked slayers, who needed groups of 4-5 to defeat regular demons, and Hashira-level slayers, who could oneshot higher ranked ones.
- Shinobu's sobs when Kanae finally died in her arms.
- "Why couldn't I be taller ?"
- Douma toying with Shinobu before her final attack (that took even him by surprise.)
- Giyuu refusing to talk to Akaza and refusing to give him his name - contrast from Rengoku who presented himself from the beginning and stated his position and name. Giyuu ain't playing with those demons (he's so shady)
- Genya searching for his brother the moment he fell into the castle.
- how small Muichiro looked next to Gyomei.
- how horrifying and dire the situation looks throughout the castle, and how all the Hashira put their life on the line to try and keep the other slayers from dying as much as they could.
The next two movies are gonna be 10x worse and i m not ready.
This was the best movie i have ever seen, the best animation i have ever encountered and the hardest cry i ve ever had in a cinema before. Thank you, Ufotable, thank you to the author.
I love the horror fanarts with Nezuko being a demonic presence that the others fear , except for Tanjiro who still sees her as his little sister. But I want to focus on the other side of the coin - Nezuko, turned into a demon, still soft and sweet but scared to death of the others attacking her the way Giyuu and Sanemi did the first time they saw her. Demon Nezuko fearful of interaction with any new humans, because she is horrified by the idea of people being afraid of her.
- Nezuko who keeps her head bowed down unless Tanjiro smiles softly at her, encouraging her to meet the new person.
- Nezuko who always keeps her stature small, smaller than anyone in the room, so that she doesn't seem threatening .
- Nezuko who hated getting out of the box at the beginning, the first few months, haunted by the disgusted and hateful looks the other demon slayers gave her before knowing who she was.
- Nezuko who sobbed at night, biting into the muzzle, because she hated how Tanjiro had to take all the beating and insults for her sake. Because she hated herself for what she became, because she hated how much of a burden she was to her brother.
- Nezuko who kept everything to herself, because she couldn't speak, and she wouldn't have told anyone anyway. She didn't want to burden Tanjiro even more, even if she knew he would do everything for her. Tanjiro would tear himself apart if he knew his little sister considered herself to be a burden to him.
- Nezuko and Tanjiro who stood together at night, holding hands, shedding silent tears for their guilt and suffering. They weren't demon and demon slayer in the silence of the Burterfly Mansion, they were two scared children who lost everything. Who fought with their lives to ar least have each other, when the world wanted to take them apart.
- Nezuko who felt happiness the first time she used her healing power, because she could finally turn away from her demon nature. She could finally heal someone and could give his life back to Tengen, one of the Hashira who grew to accept her over time.
- Nezuko who visits her dear people when they're injured. She doesn't move away from Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke when they are injured and bed bound. She visits Giyuu silently, at night, when he is treated at the Butterfly Mansion and asleep, and even Genya when he is passed out at night (she only peeks from the door because she is intimidated by him.)
- Nezuko who feared herself when she overheard that Urokodaki and Giyuu swore to commit seppuku if she ever hurt anyone. Who feared she would lose control, and they would die because of her.
- Nezuko who gets to behave like a child for the first time when Mitsuri holds her hand and coos at her gently. Her size gets even smaller and she loves to get babied by the Love Hashira.
- Nezuko who runs behind Tanjiro every time she stumbles upon a new demon slayer. She will cling to him like a child, and she will only look at the new person after Tanjiro lets her know it's okay, that he is there, and that nothing would happen to her.
- Nezuko, who tears up when Tanjiro braids her hair like he used to when their family was alive, while speaking to her in that soft, reassuring tone. Telling her how everything will be alright, how he will buy her kimonos and colorful obis after she becomes a human again, and how they will make it together with their new friends. All as if Tanjiro wasn't a child himself, trying to guide another child through the biggest traumas of their lives.
- Nezuko who is always surrounded by the girls of the Butterfly Mansion, who don't care that she is a demon. Always holding hands with one of them and picking flowers from the garden to gift to Shinobu together.
- Nezuko who approached Giyuu with tears in her eyes when she met him on the hallway of the Butterfly Mansion, and softly pulled on the sleeve of his haori to get his attention. When Giyuu felt the tug on Tsutako's side of his haori, he almost teared up too at the child that cooed up at him in gratefulness. (He would never tell anyone, how he hugged the child he saved himself and gently pat her head before going on his way)
- Nezuko who lights up when she sees Urokodaki, not knowing what came next. Not knowing what the Infinity Castle was going to do to her favorite people and what her brother will suffer till sunrise.
Nezuko who was only a child , smaller and more scared than Tanjiro, another child, but who only had him to protect her.

white t girl i love you. and also do not forget that you are not the modern martyr for the oppressed voice. that's still black girls. it's always been black girls. stories of black martyrdom simply don't make it into the news cycle until the unrest caused by its reporting can be packaged as a "riot" segment between traffic reports. i know you suffer, but whatever you're experiencing, i beg you, when interacting with your community and building nuanced understandings of each other and the system which binds us, to not forget that a black tgirl has felt it 100 times worse before positioning yourself as an authority on all systems of oppression for having suffered unjustly at all. because you have suffered unjustly, but suffering unjustly as a white person means something so much different.

again. i did not say you were not oppressed. this post is literally about how you are oppressed. it is a reminder that you are not the most oppressed person in the world, a way i've seen a lot of white transfems acting lately. maybe not even necessarily in a detrimental way, but in a way that definitely leans towards the "white is default" lane of thinking, which erases black suffering, which erases progress towards black safety. this, to me, is troubling, which is why i made this post. it's important when building solidarity within our community to understand who the most vulnerable of us are, because the safety of the most vulnerable of us will ultimately be the safety of all of us.
please do not be offended when you are reminded that your skin is white. im not calling you evil. im asking you to remain aware of yourself.
Thing is that I’m not the only Black trans woman writing theory on transfeminism, Black transfeminism, or trans intersectionality - I’m just lightskinned and won’t shut up so I’m one of the most visible ones, and crackers STILL get mad at me for saying the most basic-ass concepts like “white people are still white even if they’re otherwise marginalized”
In many cases, intracommunity racial intersectionality fails because given the choice between solidarity with nonwhite trans people and white people (trans or cis), white trans people will almost always side with other whites in the hopes of preserving a degraded position within white supremacy, because they internally see being “lesser” within whites supremacy but still above nonwhites as preferable to solidarity with nonwhites that loses them that positionality.
I wanna toss this link on here because it’s directly related to the whole “lack of intracommunity solidarity when race is involved” thing and has a specific example from my local community.

this may be an Unpopular Opinion (even on tumblr) but like the 8-hour workday is just Too Gotdamn Long
like even sitting in an office for eight hours a day isn’t particularly pleasant (or healthy, as we are beginning to see) but when we’re talking about doing *actual work* for that same amount time it gets pretty fucking brutal
doing literally *anything* (even leisure activities) for eight hours straight tends to be less than enjoyable but when we’re talking about things like construction, landscaping, factory work, and hell, even foodservice and retail, eight hours is a fucking ETERNITY
i might just be a lazy weak-willed bitch but honestly i think i’m not entirely wrong
this was being worked towards by leftist labor unions way back in the day after the time of FDRs new deal. people in the 40s and 50s were already starting to realize that we no longer actually needed an 8 hour work day or even a 5 day work week.
even with the comparatively primitive factory tech of the time we were already creating a huge amount of excess production back then and companies were making massive amounts of profit. So it already stood to reason that companies should either let their employees work less and thus each employee could work a shorter shift without lowering the yearly compensation of each employee, or in cases where businesses provide an active service they would shorten the shift but hire more people to cover the necessary operating time. but of course that would mean less money for people at the top so companies fought back hard and we ended up with nixon’s bullshit and so on and now its considered the norm for us to spend the vast majority of our lives doing work that really just amounts to waste.
The IWW realised this and were fighting for it all the way back in the 1930s. This is a take with a lot of historical and theoretical grounding, OP, so you’re standing in good stead.
I’d also like to add it’s also been studied and scientifically proven that after 6 hours, we have an extremely noticeable drop in productivity. Sweden saw nothing but benefits from a 6-hour work day, including worker productivity, happiness, and half the amount of sick-leave used when applied to nurses.
Just to emphasize this: the IWW is for working class people, this includes students, retired people, unemployed people, permanently unemployed people due to disability and such, people with their own (small!) business, freelancers.
Unless you are in a position to never have to work because you are rich enough or you are deciding how much money your employees make, you can join! They offer reduced rates for people with low income and your local chapter might offer a sponsorship program where other members pay/help to pay your dues if you/as long as you can’t.
Shout out to my mom who explains my transition as "Having a daughterpillar turn into a Boyterfly". It doesn't erase the fact I was an adorable little girl, and also affirms my gender now. I love my mother.
