On March 16th at SXSW Interactive, twelve awesome startups - including Branching Minds - who rose to the top from a pool of hundreds from around the world will compete head-to-head to claim the most in HATCH dollar investments to become this year’s 1st place winner. With over $150M raised by past HATCH pitch winners since 2012 including one acquisition, real world investments are highly likely to follow. These ‘making life better’ startups will present to a panel of world class judges consisting of top VCs, Fortune 100 enterprise executives, and top accelerators.

Branching Minds Founder & CEO Maya Gat participates on a panel to discuss the role of teacherpreneurs in the NY EdTech scene. The panel discussed how many NY teachers are actually becoming part-time or full-time founders, and how impactful/successful are teacher-led ventures compared with other edtech startups.

The Netexplo Forum has announced that Branching Minds is an Award Winner for the 8th Netexplo Forum to take place at UNESCO House in Paris on February 4-5, 2015.

Maya Gat participated on a panel discussion on edtech use in education with Kaplan Ed Tech Accelerator Program Director Don Burton and RethinkEducation Managing Partner Matt Greenfield.

Yesterday, 11 startups showcased their best and brightest educational solutions to a group of angel and venture investors and leaders in the educational sector in New York City. The presentations marked the end of an intensive, three-month business development program, where the startups worked with Kaplan executives and other experts within the tech and business communities.

Branching Minds announced today that they have presented at the Demo Day hosted by Kaplan EdTech Accelerator, powered by Techstars. Branching Minds is a NY-based startup company focusing on the special needs segment of the education market, by developing an online tool and mobile application to help parents to assess and identify a child’s individual learning needs, and then connect them to appropriate, high quality services to address these needs.

One of 12 companies selected, Branching Minds participated in the Kaplan-Techstars EdTech Accelerator in the fall of 2014.

School is about to start again at the Kaplan EdTech Accelerator. Now in its second year, the three-month program will prepare twelve teams hailing from the U.S., Canada, Iceland and India to scale their products in the global education market. Over 500 companies (45% from outside the U.S.) 

Branching Minds was named one of 4 finalists for the Ed Tech Start-Up Pitch Fest at ISTE 2014. The competition included over 30 promising new companies which presented to a distinguished panel of experts for the International Society of Technology in Education.

Sponsored by Innovate NYC Schools, the event offered an opportunity for Branching Minds to present and receive feedback from 7 special education teachers in New York.

Branching Minds won $25,000 in The K12 Online Learning Prize for the best business plan that leverages technology for grades K-12. In addition, Branching Minds was also voted the Audience Choice Award.

Branching Minds presented to educators and administrators in Providence to discuss the challenges teachers face with compliance to Response to Intervention (RTI) mandates without the necessary tools to help struggling learners.
