Heres all the things I mentioned!
Should mention you may want to learn port forwarding for using soulseek/nicotine+ to share your own files, some people wont share their files to people that aren't sharing themselves.
Soulseek
Graphical client for the Soulseek peer-to-peer network
And for editing tags in bulk:
Mp3tag is a powerful and easy-to-use tool to edit metadata of audio files.
Official website for MusicBrainz Picard, a cross-platform music tagger written in Python.
Finding album covers in high res:
Search for high quality album covers from various online streaming services, music stores and databases.
Also gonna include some music players I like:
https://getmusicbee.com/
Install via EXE, Flatpak or the Arch User Repository.
So far as iOS goes, this is the only one that supports replaygain and doesn't have in-app purchases, no lastfm support tho:
âfoobar2000 mobile is an advanced audio player for mobile devices. Main features: * Supported audio formats: MP3, MP4, AAC, Vorbis, Opus, F
I'm not too familiar with android but the best one I found during a time I was planning to swap to android (still am eventually) is this:
Musicolet is a small yet powerful offline Music Player for Android, which organizes and plays local audio-files stored on your device.

is this niche piece of media really that popular or is my one mutual really going through something: a tale of tumblr
Leopard Figurine. Mesopotamia. c. 3300-2900 BC.
so called "free thinkers" when hi 1 quastion
I just misspelled the word "qualified" and said "I'm not quailfied enough to do this"
A quailfied person:
Oh! Wow!! It seems you found a little creachur!
What kind of little creachur did you find?
A lil lizard
Hmm seems like it's got wings - a bird? A bat? Who can say
The softest little bunny rabbit
A glossy beetle
Frog :3
Teeny tiny hedgehog
Mouse with the biggest ears you've ever seen
Fish in it's little fish bowl
Fox with a fluffy tail
Snail friend :3
Snake that winds around your arm
Sentient potato
You pick the little creachur up and notice something really neat about it â what did you notice?
It's got wings! (An extra set if it's a creachur that already has wings!)
Bright neon rainbow spots!
Tiny little antlers!
It has eight eyes!
There's an extra set of teeth in that cute little mouth!
It purrs!
It's carrying a little briefcase marked 'top secret'!
It glows softly when you pet it!
It's leucistic or melanistic!
Those claws are made of metal!
Something else - tell me in the tags!
Nothing extraordinary about this creachur, but it's still very special to me <
The little creachur climbs into your pocket! (Yes, even the fish, don't question it.) Seems like it's following you home - would you like to give it a name?
Let's call it...
Spot
Georgette
Dill Pickle
Charlie
Ser Butters, Knight of the Dairy Kingdom
Sourdough
Raspberry Tart
Bear
The Great Destroyer of Worlds
The creachur already has a name, it's (put it in the tags)
Hmmm none of these fit that well, it's name is (put it in the tags)
As soon as you make it home, the creachur settles right in with you.
Where does it make it's bed?
Your pillow :)
Pile of scrap fabric you've been meaning to use
On top of the fridge
In your laundry hamper
In the tiny space between two books on your shelf
Underneath the couch, where you can hear it making happy noises
In your coziest winter hat
Nestled among all the art supplies
In the Lego pirate ship on display
In your backpack so it can go with you everywhere
No particular spot, because it curls up beside you wherever you sit
It hides so well that I can't tell, but I know it's there :)
Well, seems like it's settled in for good. One last poll, to help you and your new creachur remain best buds -
What becomes your creachur's favourite thing to do together?
It loooves little snacks, all suited for it's diet of course!
Being pet - it especially loves chin scritches!
Playing with it - it especially loves chasing toys!
Cuddle time <3
Trips outside - it loves going on adventures with me!
Snacks but specifically the kind it steals from me!!
It just loves being around me, watching tv, hanging out while I read, etc
Bedtime! It sleeps right beside me all night long!
It really seems to love music, especially my favourite band!
Visits to see friends or family - it's a social little creachur!
Sitting outside in nature and just soaking it in <3
Watching movies - it's especially fond of Columbo???
Good luck with your new creachur!!
Re: the last post, the article mentions that some places use clams to test the toxicity of the water. Itâs like that in Warsaw- we get our water from the river, and the main water pump has 8 clams that have triggers attached to their shells. If the water gets too toxic, they close, and the triggers shut off the city water supply automatically. Â
The clams are just better at measuring the water quality than any man-made sensors.
Edit: check out this documentary trailer :Â https://vimeo.com/408820791
God Bless Our Troops
They hot glued a spring to a clam and gave it full control over the water supply
No of course not, that would be ridiculous.
They hot glued springs to eight clams and gave them collective control over the water supply.
No of course not, hot glue would kill the clams.
The used silicone adhesive to attach springs to eight clams and gave them collective control over the water supply.

me: truly a well crafted tragedy is such a bittersweet pleasure to take in and serves a purpose, not just as a sad story but as a reminder that even that which ends badly might not have happened in vain or for nothing. The love, the grief, the actions still meant something simply for having taken place and for us partaking in it.
me when said tragedy is about to actually unfold, sweating: ok but consider this. i dont want this to happen
@sarumans
wyll baldursgate ravengard is like. the writers very obviously half-assed it, but it would've taken SO little effort to just go with:
"this guy shed his previous identity in a traumatic burst of violence at the tender age of 17 to save his city, and in the process has welded his entire sense of self to the Heroic Idealsâ˘ď¸ he grew up with. he is charismatic and superficially whimsical, but underneath it, he's in a objectively very bleak situation of having no family or home, 0 prospects aside from dying young in a monster fight and/or getting another offer he can't refuse from mizora, and getting his soul put into a torment nexus forever. he's kind of accepted this bc he places no value on his life outside of Doing Good Deedsâ˘ď¸ . he has built an impenetrable 18 charisma facade around himself to hide any fear or anger or negative feelings. but, he stays silly :)"
and then quite obviously, you can either encourage wyll to remain on his heroic martyrdom complex (similar to how you can encourage gale to literally explode) or you can get wyll to remember that he is also a person that deserves to live and occasionally do things for his own benefit (the opposite of astarion, perhaps). and this would be extremely sweet, and is exactly what the voice actor was trying to infuse into the performance! it just. never got satisfyingly brought together. AASHJDGSHH. gnashing my teeth eternally.
I mean I get this, and I think Larian should be ashamed of how they neglected Wyll, especially in post launch updates, but I also think that this is actually missing that the story that we did get with Wyll both addressed this and also refuted it. The point of Wyllâs story is âstay for Baldurâs Gate as their Duke (a city which threw him out as a child and never looked back)â vs âgo to Avernus (chase the self that you found exploring the world, and continue to be the hero that you love being.â
While the Duke ending isnât really as morally grey as any other charactersâ âbadâ ending, Wyllâs complexity comes from the fact that his story is basically a fractured fairy tale, and ruling the city would be the fairy tale ending. Heâs the lost prince coming home to slay the dragon and save the city. Thatâs Wyllâs story!!
Only he gets there and the dragonâs plot is a complicated tragic love story going back to the founding of the city, and Wyll realizes after the dragonâs death that he actually has a choice. As you put it, the choice between heroic martyrdom or doing things for his own benefit. The choice to remain the Duke and stay in Baldurâs Gate would actually be Wyllâs heroic martyrdom (his father and Mizora have only ever pressured him with thoughts of Baldurâs Gate, and being a hero for the city), whereas the Blade of Avernus ending is Wyll finding joy in doing what he wants to do.
Thatâs why this is the choice that you as the player can leave up to him (if youâre playing another origin) as opposed to the choice to remain in the pact, or to save his fatherâthis is the choice that tells us where Wyllâs heart really is, what he really wants. And what he really wants, aside from whatever pressure is placed on him by other people, is to be an adventurer. He does like to help people, which is why being the Duke doesnât feel like as bad of a bad ending, but he really loves the drama of being an adventurer. Thatâs also why he loves to tell all those tales of the monsters he fought, and why he wants to come up with heroic names for the other characters! Itâs fun for him!!
And I think the desire to see Wyll being cheerful in the face of this bleakness comes from a desire to see Wyllâs internality, and Iâm reading in this an assumption that Wyll not expressing that depression is somehow a lack of internality (and I especially hear this in anyone who calls his canon portrayal boring) but I also think that we do get to see his internality by this very choice. Wyll is someone who WANTS the life of an adventurer. I donât think itâs a lack to get the character we got, I find him fascinating!! Heâs the origin I keep returning to play. Yes, he has less content. Larian doesnât fix his glitches. Itâs fucked up! It doesnât mean the character we got isnât worth analyzing in his own merits, for his Disney prince levels of sweetness and whimsy and humor, for his reckless embrace of a dangerous adventurerâs life, for his (unjustified!!!) guilt over his complicated relationship with his father. And for Theoâs wonderful performance.
Anyway, my point is, what he found as the Blade of Frontiers was the life he wanted to live, and thatâs actually why Wyll is so cheerful even in the face of that bleakness: what he has learned, in canon, is that even if the worst possible things befall him, what he finds on the other side is true joy. Of course heâs an optimist! Of course heâs happy! And with the addition of saving Karlach by going to Avernus, it ties together his story with the companions and gives him friendship that he never had on his previous journeys.
when the character is obsessive and desperate and guilty and scared and ashamed and traumatized and repressed
I feel like some of us could use a beautiful warm person telling us things will be okay today! đ¤

in 2026 DO NOT ask yourself whether your art is GOOD
instead ask:
is it SINCERE
was it CATHARTIC
was it FUN TO MAKE
is it MADE BY ME
and don't forget to stay silly
There is a very specific kind of sadness in realizing your parents loved you, and still did not always know how to meet your emotional needs.
Because it is confusing. It would almost feel easier if there was no love there at all. But sometimes there was love. In the way they tried to protect you. In the sacrifices they made. In the ways they worried about you, cared for you, wanted a good life for you.
And at the same time, there were still things missing.
Maybe comfort did not come in the way you needed it to. Maybe your feelings were not always understood, or noticed, or handled gently. Maybe you learned to keep certain parts of yourself quiet because it felt easier than trying to explain them.
That kind of hurt is difficult because it does not always come from cruelty. Sometimes it comes from people who loved you deeply, but did not know how to emotionally connect in the ways you needed. People carrying their own wounds, limitations, fears, or ways of surviving.
And you are allowed to acknowledge both truths at once.
You are allowed to recognize their love and still grieve what you needed but did not receive. Those things do not cancel each other out.
Forgiveness, for a lot of people, is not pretending nothing hurt you. It is slowly accepting that someone can love you and still fall short of understanding you completely.
That does not make your pain dramatic. It does not make them monsters either. Sometimes it just means everyone was trying with the emotional tools they had, and some of those tools were not enough.
And I think many people quietly carry guilt for still feeling hurt by parents they know tried their best. But being loved imperfectly can still leave wounds. It makes sense that it affected you.
At the same time, you do not have to stay trapped only in anger forever either. Sometimes healing looks like understanding that your parents were human before they were parents. People shaped by their own experiences, their own upbringing, their own emotional gaps.
That understanding does not erase your feelings. It just softens the sharp edges around them a little.
You deserved emotional safety. You deserved gentleness. You deserved to feel understood, comforted, and emotionally close to the people raising you.
And if they could not fully give that to you, it is okay to mourn it.
But I hope you also know this: the love you needed is still something you can experience in your life. Through other people. Through chosen family. Through the way you learn to treat yourself now.
The story does not end at what you did or did not receive growing up.
You are still allowed softness after all of it đ¤
