Hearing the praise from Bridgette sent a wave of warmth through Simon’s body. He’d been praised since Isobelle, of course, but somehow praise coming from a doctor felt very different than coming from Bridgette, like it wasn’t just lip service coming from a professional but from someone who actually thought he deserved it. He felt like it was an accomplishment in the moment and couldn’t help but smile lightly as he closed his eyes and tilted his head slightly into Bridgette’s hand. “I… I’d like that, miss… working, uh, building trust… together.” Swallowing thickly, Simon could feel his throat tightening and he took in a slow breath to help keep his anxiety down. He was relieved when the Domme said she’d still like to cuddle, he’d been looking forward to it even though he was still about 97% sure it wasn’t what she’d meant. It was more difficult than he’d expected but he also knew that all he needed to do was take one step. Just one. He’d really already done it by asking to not watch the movie but if he was serious about wanting to build any sort of trust with Bridgette that meant he had to put his money where his mouth was. He swallowed again and cleared his throat quietly as he shifted his weight slightly to get out a little bit of the anxiety physically. One thing. Just one thing. What did he want outside of cuddling? Glancing up at Bridgette, Simon took in a deep breath and smiled nervously, “Uhm… could we.. could I k-… could we maybe.. kiss a little? If.. if you wanted?”
Bridgette smiled as Simon leaned into her touch, looking fondly down at him while they spoke. “Very good. I’d like that as well. You’re a good boy, Simon. I’ve said it before, but I sense that extra reassurance will do you well. It’s a good thing for you to remember, to focus on. Building trust is an excellent step as well. It means that, should we so choose, we’ll have something to work upon, and to keep building upon.” Although she sensed his anxiety building, Bridgette decided to ride out the moment. Her intention wasn’t to push Simon too far out of his comfort zone, however, not pushing at all, or allowing room to test a few boundaries, meant they’d be stagnant. Giving him the time he needed, Bridgette waited patiently for Simon to gather the words he intended, her hand never leaving his back. When the suggestion came, a slight flush made its way up Bridgette’s cheeks, her smile widening. “I’m proud of you for asking, Simon. I know that was a tough thing. I know what I asked you to do was a tough thing. But, you did it. I want you to see that you did it, and I’m still here. We’re still here. You’re still safe. Even if you would’ve said something different, the situation would be the same. Of course, sweet boy. We can kiss as much as you’d like.” Shifting, Bridgette patted the empty space next to her on the bed. “Why don’t you join me, Simon, as soon as you’re comfortable. We can kiss now, if you want, or just start off talking. Whatever you’re most comfortable with.”
