tell us about the primal game u play!
sorry in advance for how long this took to answer :’) I was on vacation
let me introduce you to a game I call Foxhunt
okay so! you’ll need: your sub (known here as the Fox), your Dom (here known as the Hound), a scarf or bandana, a biiiig wild space free of other people (bonus points if it’s wooded, extra bonus points if the Hound is familiar with it but the Fox is not), and lastly a means of tracking the fox (I use one way location sharing via the app Zocal, but an airtag or similar would work too). this is a game meant to be played at night, in the dark.
Hound, pull that bandana through a belt loop on your hip. don’t tie it; you want it to be secure enough to run without falling out but able to be pulled off with minimal resistance. set up location sharing on your phones.
Fox, you have five minutes to run off before you’ll be pursued. get as far away as you can or find a good hiding spot. Hound, you do not watch their location during this five minutes.
once their head start runs out, it’s the Hound’s objective to hunt down the Fox. you have their location, but using your phone to check it will hinder your night vision; part of your strategy is striking the right balance. (this is how we mimic following a fox’s scent trail. a hound can pick it up easily, but trails are imperfect and can be swept away by the wind or lost over streams, hence the balance struck by having to moderate how often you check.)
Fox, your win condition is to steal the bandana off of the Hound tailing you and make it back to wherever your game started.
Hound, your win condition is to get your prey pinned on the ground.
how intense the fight to meet these conditions can be determined by the individual players. personally, I typically only limit it to exclude blows to the head. in my games, the Hound wins when the Fox has all four limbs pinned to the ground and using a bite to aid in a takedown is not only allowed, but a valued strategy.
to make the most of your hunt, try hosting it somewhere the Hound can make the most of its inevitable victory and rip its quarry apart right there in the dirt and the leaf litter. reward your Fox for doing its best to survive the hunt with the privilege of taking your knot.
