Nina Arsenalt, a Canadian performer, briefly dated notorious Canadian killer Luka Magnotta over a decade ago. She would describe him as a ‘’narcissist’’ and ‘’pathological liar’’, although expressed surprise that Luka turned out to be a killer.

‘’My impression was that Luka was a person who had never known love. That love just didn’t exist for him. He’d intimated to me that he had been sexually molested as a child and kind of in a short period of time after I started to hang out with him, I saw him replaying out that childhood trauma inside the sex business where he worked as an escort and a stripper.’’

She also revealed that Luka would hit himself repeatedly in the head and was prone to extreme anger.

(This is a fairly new case so investigations are still ongoing)

Matthew Phelps, a 28-year-old form North Carolina, phoned police on September 1st 2017 at 1:01am to turn himself in for the murder of his own wife, Lauren Hugelmaier  (both pictured above.) He told the 911 dispatcher “I had a dream and then I turned on the lights and she’s dead on the floor. I have blood all over me and there’s a bloody knife on the bed, and I think I did it…I can’t believe this. I can’t believe this.” He later told the dispatcher “I think I killed my wife. Oh my God. Oh God. She didn’t deserve this. Why?”

Matthew and Lauren were only married just last year. When asked about Lauren her relatives said she was “all about her family. Her four nephews were her entire world.” and that “church was a priority.” Lauren volunteered at the youth ministry and adored the children there. Matthew was studying to become a pastor.

Phelps told the dispatcher that he “took more medicine than I should have…I took Coricidin cough and cold, because I know it can make you feel good. So, a lot of times I can’t sleep at night.” Coricidin contains dextromethorphan and chloropheniramine which, when taken in high doses, can cause euphoria, dissociative behaviours, anger and psychoses.

Phelps was taken into custody and was later charged with murder. He is currently being held at Wake County Jail. The death penalty is a possible sentence for him.

15 Somewhat Mundane Facts About Jeffrey Dahmer:

Disliked his brief employment as a phlebotomist because he hated sticking people with needles.

Slept with around 200 people.

Apparently liked flannel before it was cool–neighbor Vernell Bass recalled often seeing him in flannel, and he can be seen wearing flannel in several photographs.

Was once as a senior given ten whacks from a paddle as punishment for being caught with alcohol at school.

Admired jewelry, especially rings, and in fact bought a blue topaz ring for $1500 in the summer of 1987. He ended up pawning it a year later because he was low on cash.

Vacuumed his apartment on Sundays. He generally liked keeping his home and his person very neat and tidy. However, when depressed, he would stop taking care of himself, going days without shaving or bathing, and his apartment would become littered with booze bottles.

Thought it was a good idea to set up a Satanic altar complete with skulls and black glittering lights in his grandmother’s house.

Favorite beer was Budweiser, “the king” of beers in his opinion.

Liked McDonalds and once described himself as “living off” the restaurant chain’s food in a Thanksgiving home video recorded by his father.  Took refuge at the fast food establishment during his senior prom, which he decided to attend for some reason.

Took German in high school.

Enjoyed camp and the theatricality of drag queens.

Among the items found in his apartment after his arrest were a tube of acne lotion, a taped episode of The Cosby Show, several jars of various protein powders, and two plastic griffins.  The only food in his apartment were bags of Doritos and Ruffles potato chips.

Presented himself as a sort of class clown in high school, performing a variety of odd stunts such as bleating like a sheep, acting like a person afflicted with cerebal palsy, faking seizures, and screaming out random things in the middle of class.  However, his classmates usually laughed at him rather than with him, finding his sense of humor too dark and bizarre for comfort.

Stated in his confession that he started drinking as young as age 13 to alleviate some of the severe shyness and anxiety he felt around his classmates.  A fellow student named Chip Crofoot reported that he’d seen Dahmer taking sips from a flask of gin he kept in his locker in seventh grade.

So the FBI just released 1,500 pages of documents on Sandy Hook. They mostly consist of documents on Adam Lanza’s life prior to Sandy Hook. I’m not sure what’s already known about the case I’m just gonna put it all here.

The information consists of school information and medical records. There are also accounts of the websites he frequented. He had been taking some online language and college courses and also sold National Rifle Association safety qualifications after visiting shooting ranges with his mother, who had been described as a “gun nut.” Some blame her for her son’s mental health and for having weapons in the house at the time.

In addition to these, there are also records of his relationship with his mother as he only communicated with his mother via email as he does not leave his room for three months prior to the shooting, some neighbours even said they had not seen him in years. In these three months, he did very little, mostly listening to Japanese techno music and playing video games. (Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, Doom, Left 4 Dead, Pikmin, Paper Mario, Shin Megami Tensei, Lego Star Wars, Kingdom Hearts.) The police discovered a number of gaming devices and computers upon searching the Lanza household which had been “significantly damaged by force trauma” and “scratched with an implement.”

In his medical records, it stated that he was a vegan who did not like the texture of food, he was only 111lbs (50kg) when he died. In addition to this Lanza adopted “strange behaviours” such as preferring to sleep on the floor instead of the bed. He also liked to go on walks but avoided bright and natural light. It is also worth noting that Lanza was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome (which is on the autism scale) though he had a hard time accepting this and refused to take his perscribed medicine. 

In regards to his mother, it detailed that his mother once worked at a school, which Lanza also attended and he felt as though “his mother loved the students more than she loved him.” A witness told an agent that Lanza had been bullied at school though “not excessively” due to his “social awkwardness” and appearance. Also, when Lanza was in ninth grade he hacked through two levels of security to an undisclosed government computer. It was also reported that Lanza threatened to kill his mother sometime around December 2008.

An online friend he met on a website dedicated to Columbine said he was the “weirdest person online.” Lanza also used screen names based on Tim Kretschmer and Kimveer Gill. It was said in an interview that Lanza “was singularly focused and obsessed with mass murderers and devoted almost all his internet activity to researching and discussing mass murderers and spree killing.” 

He also had an online relationship with a woman, whose identity was protected for privacy reasons whom he met through a website where players adopt the roles of the Columbine shooters. She noted that it was clear that he was depressed and viewed the world negatively. He expressed occasional suicidal thoughts but she did not think he was capable of killing himself nevermind others.

Despite this, the FBI concluded that Lanza had done “careful, methodical planning and preparation.” and could have possibly been planning the attack since March 2011. She also told authorities that he had gone into details about his sexuality, he also hinted at the fact he might’ve been asexual. She mentioned that he composed “at least one lengthy email” on his views about paedophilia. In which he expressed his hatred of it but also said it could be “possibly beneficial to both parties.”  FBI agents found a file on Lanza’s computer ‘advocating paedophiles’ rights and the liberation of children’ as well as a screenplay about a relationship between a 10-year-old boy and a 30-year-old man.
