the  deputy’s  lips  parted  open  but  not  a  single  word  came  out  of  them,  she  couldn’t  believe  he  was  really  just  saying  that.  “  oh,  i  knew  she  was  going  to  be  a  werewolf  the  second  we  found  i  was  pregnant  ”  bellesaid,  rolling  her  eyes  at  the  werewolf.  belle  looked  at  peter  as  he  scratched  colette  behind  her  ear.  “  can  you  please  don’t  do  that  ?  ”  she  asked,  looking  at  him,  she  was  stressed,  really  stressed.  “  she’s  not  a  dog,  jeez  ”  she  said,  taking  her  hands  to  her  head.

belle  furrowed  her  eyebrows  at  his  words.  “  if  you  think  i  won’t  like  it  don’t  do  it,  it’s  too  early  to  get  mad  at  you.  The  day  is  long  enough  for  that  ”  she  said,  stepping  away  from  the  crib,  her  arms  crossing  over  her  chest  as  she  heard  her  mate  talking.  “  yeah,  call  her  ”  she  nodded,  for  sure  that  would  be  better  than  letting  him  deal  with  it  alone.

the  deputy  stepped  back  closer  to  the  crib  the  second  peter  walked  outside  of  the  room,  she  looked  at  the  wolf  pup,  not  even  knowing  how  to  deal  with  that  situation.  she  knew  she  would  find  herself  in  that  situation,  but  she  hoped  it  would  happen  later,  when  at  least  the  baby  could  comprehend  what  her  parents’  told  her.

belle  moved  her  hand  slowly  just  for  the  pup  to  smell  it,  it  felt  stupid,  that  pup  wasn’t  a  real  wolf,  it  was  her  daughter,  it  just  felt  wrong  treating  him  as  she  would  treat  her  dogs.  the  deputy  furrowed  her  eyebrows  as  she  noticed  the  dogs  walking  inside  the  room  when  peter  did.  “  nothing  is  worng  …  i  mean  it  is  wrong  ”  she  said  pointing  at  the  crib.  “  don’t  ask  me  to  calm  down  right  now,  i  can’t  ”  she  told  the  werewolf.  

the  young  woman’s  eyes  opened  wide  as  peter  suggested  putting  colette  on  the  ground  so  she  could  play  with  the  dogs.  belle  took  her  hands  to  her  head  once  more.  “  oh  mon  dieu,  you’re  so  lucky  i  know  that  if  i  punched  you  i  would  probably  break  my  hand,  i  wanna  punch  you  so  bad  right  now  ”  she  said,  getting  mad  at  the  werewolf.  “  she’s  not  a  fucking  dog,  don’t  you  dare  treating  my  daughter  as  a  dog  or  we’ll  have  a  problem  ”  she  warned.

Peter furrowed his brow, bothered by Belle’s tone. “Do what? Love on my daughter?” he questioned, almost a dare. “She’s a werewolf,” he corrected before rolling his eyes. “Oh, you aren’t mad yet? Could’ve fooled me,” he mumbled to himself, still scratching Colette behind her ear. “Don’t look at me like that,” he asked as she agreed he brought Malia over.

Peter rolled his eyes, sighing loudly when Belle ordered him not to tell her to calm down. It inconvenient, because she needed to calm down. However, her anger hit his senses before she even spoke. Belle definitely did not like that Peter wanted Colette to play with her own dogs. A low growl vibrated in his throat, his ego hurt as she threatened him and confessed to wanting to harm him in front of their daughter. “I wish you would,” he countered, an empty threat of his own.

“Can you please just stop and calm down. She can sense you. She’ll get the idea the shift is bad,” he tried to explain, deciding that maybe rationalizing the situation might calm her down. “Worst case scenario... she’ll think you’re rejecting her.” A little exaggeration to drive the point home.

“  yeah  don’t  sleep  i  don’t  want  to  have  a  rainy  day  tomorrow  ”  she  teased,  now  following  him  down  towards  the  bedroom.  the  deputy’s  eyes  opened  wide  as  his  lips  crashed  against  hers,  for  a  second  not  expecting  it,  but  it  just  took  her  a  second  just  before  she  kissed  the  werewolf  back,  her  hands  moving  to  cup  both  sides  of  his  face  as  she  pulled  peter  closer.  “  yeah  …  that  doesn’t  sound  bad  at  all  ”  she  laughed  softly.  “  just  remember  don’t  fall  asleep  before  i  do  ”

it  didn’t  take  the  deputy  much  to  notice  peter  had  fallen  asleep  a  couple  of  minutes  before  they  had  managed  to  get  back  to  their  room,  yet  she  just  couldn’t  sleep.  she  tried  to  turn  around,  but  she  just  failed  every  single  thing  she  tried.  she  couldn’t  stop  looking  at  the  clock,  it  was  going  to  be  a  long  time.  she  heard  something  in  the  other  room,  just  because  of  the  baby  monitor.  she  walked  out  of  bed  and  just  walked  towards  the  nursery  room.

belle  just  couldn’t  believe  what  she  saw  at  that  moment.  “  oh  my  god  ”  she  whispered  lowly,  walking  close  to  the  wolf  pup  and  she  was  sure  that  was  colette.    “  how  is  this  going  to  be  alright  ?  ”  she  sighed.  “  gosh,  she  scared  the  shit  out  of  me  ”  she  confessed.  “  she’s  supposed  to  be  asleep,  do  something  ”  she  said  turning  to  finally  look  at  her  mate.  “  i  want  the  baby  back  ”

Peter proud stance, chin high up included, along with hi inner gloating were interrupted as Belle demanded he did something. “Well... she’s a werewolf, Belle,” the eldest Hale stated as if it was explanation enough, shrugging his shoulders dismissively. “Pretty impressive too... Being able to fully shift this early on.” He paused, scratching behind the baby werewolf’s fluffy ear. “We should’ve known. Malia is also an overachiever.” He was obviously loving everything about their current situation.

“I don’t think you’d like my way of dealing with this,” Peter admitted with an awkward smile, having already thought of growling their child from her shifted state. Usually, that was a power Alphas had. But in this specific case, he was sure Colette would react since he was her father---red eyes or not. “I’ll call Malia. She could shift and maybe Colette will catch a hint,” Peter offered instead, not wanting to awaken Belle’s wrath. 

Returning to their room, the werewolf grabbed his official phone and text his daughter explaining the situation with the least amount of words possible and ending it with: Need you here, asap. As Peter texted, he felt the dogs around his feet, Foamy pawing gently at his toes to get his attention.

a  soft  sigh  left  her  lips  as  she  felt  peter  pressing  his  lips  on  her  forehead.  the  deputy  rolled  her  eyes  at  his  words,  now  justifying  how  he  was  the  one  listening  her  walking  towards  them.  she  wished  she  was  joking,  but  she  just  wasn’t,  she  had  slept  pretty  much  anything,  most  of  the  time  because  she  wanted  to  check  on  colette  even  if  the  baby  hadn’t  even  cried,  the  rest  of  the  time  was  the  baby  crying.

the  deputy  leaned  in  an  just  caressed  the  baby’s  face  gently,  as  if  she  was  made  of  glass  and  could  break  anytime.  “  yeah,  you  do  ”  she  chuckled  softly,  moving  just  to  press  her  lips  on  the  baby’s  forehead  before  she  made  her  way  towards  the  werewolf.  “  i  guess  we  can  go  back  to  bed,  you’ve  fed  her  ands  there’s  nothing  much  to  do  now  ”  she  said  as  her  hands  moving  to  interview  her  fingers  with  his.  “  i’m  up  so  you  better  not  fall  asleep  right  away  or  i’ll  wake  you  up  ”  she  joked,  “  i  don’t  like  when  people  sleeps  and  i  can’t  ”

Peter smirked, hearing her invitation and feeling her hand slip into his. A chuckle escaped his lips. “I’ll sing you to sleep,” he teased, pulling her towards their bedroom where the dogs were still fast asleep. Peter kissed her lips softly, knowing she probably wasn’t up to getting too intimate, but still craving her lips and her touch. “C’mon, let’s have a lazy day... while we can,” the Beta jested, placing soft kisses on her shoulder as his arms wrapped around her. 

He’d wanted to hold her in his arms, talk to her and lay down while listening to her voice. However, sleep came to him like a thief in the night. When he awoke, Peter did so in a start, alone in bed.

sleeping hadn’t  been  something belle  had  been  enjoying  much  later,  maybe  it  was  just  because it  was  her  first  child, or  that  she  was  constantly thinking  about  the  baby  sleeping in  the  other  room,  but  she  hadn’t really  been  able  to  sleep  much  the  last  couple of  days.  she  spent  most  of  her  day  around the  little  baby,  no  one  could  blame  her  and  tended  to  fall  asleep at  random  parts  of  the  day  just  because  of  the  lack  of  sleep.

the  deputy  woke  up  really early,  after  maybe  two  hours  of  sleep, as  she  noticed the  time  on  the  clock  she  just  moved  to  ask  peter  if  he  was  awake  and,  maybe, just  wake  him  up  so  she  wasn’t there  alone,  but  the  werewolf was  no  longer laying  next  to  her.  belle  got  up  from  the  bed  and  instinctively  found  herself  walking towards  the  baby’s room,  his  words  made  her  stop  in  place.  “  you’re  the  creep  sensing all  my  moves, you  should  not  talk  ”  she  chuckled softly.  “  i  don’t  know  what  sleep  is  any  more”  she  shook  her  head,  walking to  the  crib.  “  i  didn’t  hear  her  cry  ”  she  mused,  her  hands  moving to  rest  on  the  edge  of  the  crib.  “  you  heard  her  because she  cried  or  was  i  too  asleep to  hear  it  ?  ”

The werewolf couldn’t help chuckling when Belle turned the tables on him. Moving towards her, Peter placed a soft kiss on her forehead. “It’s in my nature,” the werewolf teased lowly, amusement in his gaze. His teasing turned to quieted laughter as Belle poked fun at how little she’d been sleeping. 

Watching as she walked past him towards the crib, Peter crossed his arms over his chest. “I woke up before she started crying,” he informed her. “You know, because I sense stuff,” he teased again with a smile.

It was a week since they had brought Colette home. In order to be of more help, the werewolf had taken off a few months. While his black market gig was left in the hands of his second in command, the managing of the strip club went to his youngest niece. Moving through the house, Peter went to the baby’s room.

He didn’t quite know how to love,

the  deputy  looked at  the  male,  now  telling him  he  wasn’t mad  at  her,  she  would  be,  she  had  been  just  in  pain,  but  she  could  understand  peter  being mad and  annoyed  at  her  words. “  i  wouldn’t blame  you  ”  she  confessed, her  eyes  closing once  more,  her  hand  moving to  the  seat,  feeling  another contraction.

“  what’s  wrong  with  that  name  ?  ”  she  asked  looking at  the  werewolf. “  i  don’t  know  where  to  start, peter  ”  the  deputy  shook  her  head.  “  sounds classy  ?  ”  the  deputy couldn’t  help  let  out  a  chuckle.  “  what  about  something  different, i  just  don’t  need  to  have  peter  and  baby  petra  running around  ”  she  said  jokingly. “  thank  you  ”  she  nodded  her  head  as  he  agreed to  think  about  something  else.  

those  short  seconds was  just  making belle  relax,  not  feeling  that  horrible  pain  for  sure  was  helping her  with  her  breathing  and  nerves. the deputy  still  had  her  eyes  closed,  yet  as  he  told  her  they  were  there  and  he  was  going  to  let  her  hand  go  she  couldn’t help  opening  her  eyes.  the  deputy  just  nodded.  “  okay,  just  don’t  take  too  long  ”  she  said  softly, his  hand  leaving hers  just  to  make  her  realise  once  more  the  pain  wasn’t going  to  fade.   the  deputy  took  the  woman’s hand,  a  soft  smile  on  her  lips  as  melissa helped  her  get  out  of  the  car,  as  she  closed  the  door  her  eyes  quickly moved  to  meet  peters  for  a  second before  the  nurse  walked  her  inside  the  hospital.  

with  each  contraction came  a  pain  that  dominated belle’s  entire  being. in  those  moments, for  those  seconds that  stretched  into  infinity, there was  nothing  else.   she  could  hear  screaming  from  other  rooms, which  only  stressed her  more.  with  contractions  coming faster  than  before the  woman  could  feel  her  heart  racing inside  her  chest. she  nodded  at  all  the  indications  melissa was  just  told  her,  yet  her  hand  was  firmly holding  peter’s,  just  trying  to  keep  her  mind  focused on  what  was  happening.  her  stomach  tightened, belle  heard  her  own  scream without  being  aware  of  making it.

when  the  labour began  the  pain  was  more  intense  than  anything  belle  had  ever  imagined.  nothing could  be  more  brutal,  not  whips  or  chains.  belle  could  hear  how  the  midwife  was  telling  her  that  it  was  time,  time  to  push.  with  a  guttural grunt  she  did  so  and  was  told  to  stop,  one was enough.  she  felt  the  baby  crowning,  the  hot  stretching of  flesh  and  held  her  breath.  without any  further  effort, the  baby  slid  into  the  hands  of  the  midwife. belle  finally  breathed out,  her  head  moving  to  rest  against the  hospital  bed.  her  eyes  moved  to  meet  the  werewolf’s  for  a  second before  she  just  closed  her  eyes,  exhausted.

The hardest moment of the day was letting go just then. He wasn’t all that excited about taking her pain, but being away from Belle as their child was coming into the world terrified him. He’d already messed up with Malia, the guilt catching up to him---perhaps too late, but it was there. 

In reality, it didn’t take more than five minutes to find a parking spot and his way to Belle’s side again. Taking her hand, he tried to take some of her pain again, biting down on his bottom lip to help her carry the load to the best of his ability. Peter felt her grip tighten around his hand. “It’s alright,” he promised calmly.

the  woman  couldn’t  help  being  curious,  mostly  because  since  the  second  they  reached  the  street  she  had  been  just  moaning  about  how  bad  that  hurt  and  being  just  focused  on  herself,  but  how  couldn’t  she  when  she  was  feeling  that  odd  and  painful  sensation  in  that  moment.  “  i  thought  you  would  be  too  mad  at  me  for  counting  ”  belle  confessed.

“  don’t  growl  at  me  ”  she  warned  him.  “  how  am  i  supposed  to  let  you  call  our  baby  petra  ?!  ”  belle  asked.  “  that’s  not  a  beautiful  name  if  you  ask  me,  she  would  end  up  hating  us  for  that  ”  the  deputy  stated.  “  maybe  we  can  think  about  another  name  …  ”  she  said  as  she  felt  once  more  that  pain,  making  her  ran  out  of  air  once  more.  “  okay,  i’m  just  so  fucking  scared  ”  she  told  the  other,  finally  letting  those  words  come  out  of  her  lips.  a  soft  gasp  left  her  lips  the  second  she  felt  the  werewolf’s  hand  on  hers,  her  head  instantly  moved  to  rest  on  her  seat,  being  able  to  breathe  for  a  second.  “  thank  you  ”

“I’m not mad,” Peter retorted when he was accused of his obvious temper and the nonexistent grip he had on it. He still kept his gaze on the road, his brow furrowed deeply. 

As they drove, after a comment of Belle’s had made him reply in a low growl of frustration, Belle warned him to keep from growling. It was a part of their relationship they were still working on... Seeing how Peter seemed to growl in all sorts of situation--even when he probably should not have done so.

“What’s wrong with that?”the werewolf questioned when she seemed disgusted by the idea of naming their daughter after him. “Peter? Petra? Sounds classy,” Peter challenged when Belle mentioned she personally disliked the name and theorized their child would hate it. “Fine! Fine... We’ll think of something else...” 

The deputy’s eyes moved to look at Peter, now mentioning that the interval was about six minutes. She took a deep breath and just told Melissa. The French hanged the call, now looking at the werewolf as he kept driving. “ How did you know that? ” she asked, her eyes closing as she felt another contraction. She hold her breath until she felt that sensation going away. She breathed out, just trying to remain calm. Handling contractions were literally taking all of her attention at that moment.

Belle’s eyes remained closed, just trying to be somehow relaxed, even if it was that moment that was just impossible. “ First of all, we’re not naming her Petra Bella, but good try ” Belle told him. “ And second of all, you say that but, I am the one who has been having contractions and I can’t even think about anything else ” the deputy mused.

Although Peter’s gaze remained on the road, the werewolf could feel Belle’s gaze burning into his face. Her question was oddly unexpectedly expected. “Enhanced senses,” the werewolf reminded her, wondering if it had been a rude gesture.

Belle was trying to keep her nerves under control if it wasn’t obvious the woman was panicking, and if she was honest terrified about the fact she was going into labour just now. The French woman just didn’t feel prepared for all that stress. The deputy furrowed her eyebrows the second she heard Peter growling. “ If you dare to growl again I swear I’ll shoot you again ” she said with her eyes locked on the werewolf’s.

The woman pressed her lips into a thin line as she rested her back against the wall. The way Peter seemed calm even if she seemed to be there just pressuring him, made her feel low-key relaxed, if something was going wrong he would know before she ever did? “ I just wanna get there already, I just feel like I am ” the French woman told the other. “ It hurts ” she said taking a long breath. The woman rested her eyes against the cold wall the second the werewolf rushed upstairs, closing her eyes, just trying to relax as much as possible, she knew getting nervous wasn’t going to help her at all. 

Once Peter had helped her get on the car the woman let out a sigh, at least that was closer to the hospital in that second. Belle nodded quickly as he started the engine, now dialling Melissa. She took her phone to her ear as she heard it dialling. “ Hey, hey ” she second she heard the voice of the woman on the other side of the line. “ We’re going to the hospital ” she said taking a quick look at Peter, now driving. “ The time between contractions? ” she repeated “ I don’t know …  I - I don’t know ” the deputy panicked. She could hear the woman trying to calm her. “ We’ll be there soon, thanks for this Melissa ”

Having listened to Belle’s threat---and knowing from experience that she would, indeed, shoot him---, Peter still couldn’t help but roll his eyes. By the time he was back, and they got in the car, the werewolf’s anxiety had sky-rocketed. He did his best to keep control, although his hands were fidgety---especially when Belle shared she was in pain.

“Six minutes,” Peter answered when Belle said she couldn’t tell how far apart her contractions were. In secret, apart of his sidework at the club, the werewolf had begun reading various books on parenthood. He’d drop dead before he let anyone find out, but it hadn’t stopped him from soaking all possibly useful information. Her heartbeat and pain induced stress spiked every six minutes, which caused him to conclude that her contractions were responsible. 

“It’s going to be fine. Petra Bella will be here soon, and you will be ok. This will pass,” he tried to console his mate as the hospital came into view in the distance.

The werecoyote walked close to her father ash walked outside of that room. “ You don’t have to be all mad because he came with me ” she told him “ We all can sense you don’t want him here but I had to tell him why was I running towards the hospital ” she shrugged dismissively. A soft smile appeared on her lips as she felt her father’s hand gently squeezing her shoulder. Her eyes moved to meet his fathers as he mentioned it was a girl. “ I don’t think that was a complete surprise for you ” she said a soft chuckle left her lips. 

Malia heard the alpha letting out a chuckle the second Peter mentioned Belle refusing to name the baby Petra Bella. “ I think it would be strange that she had allowed you to name her like that. ” I’m pretty sure you wanted me to be named after you too “ she let out a chuckle. ” Can I see her? “ she asked low-key wanting to see the baby, even if that was just something completely new for her, she couldn’t run away from that as she would have a while ago.

As the werecoyote explained the Alpha’s presence, Peter rolled his eyes. Scott’s appearance wasn’t unexpected---in fact, it had been expected. He just needed more time to adjust. After the previous few yeas, the Hale werewolf believed he was doing pretty well. At the very least, he was accepting of his role in the pack and had become pretty good at taking Scott serious when the young werewolf went into Alpha mode. 

The pain of labour was a prison for her mind. In that jail cell of fear and confusion, the time passed without her being able to keep track. Her stomach tightened, she heard her own scream without being aware of making it. Her mind was rushing, the world around her was just moving too fast for her at that moment, she didn’t know what to do at that moment. She obviously remembered what Scott’s mother had told her but all she could really think about was trying to keep herself calm, was it working, she didn’t know since the werewolf was constantly asking her if she was alright.

Belle blinked a couple of times, not really believing her mate’s words. “ What keys? I don’t know if you know this but I can’t really run to the hospital ” she raised her eyebrows. “ I don’t know where your car is, I thought it would be a good thing you driving us there, but you know what wait here I’ll get those because I can reach my loft in what … another fifteen minutes? If we keep talking out daughter will be born in a parking lot ” she reminded him just rolling her eyes, obviously not moving. If her mind wasn’t rushing she would have probably apologised for the way she had talked to him, yet she wasn’t. “ And I don’t know about any of the neighbours but I’m sure you’re not prepared to assist this, and I don’t really want to die here either ”

If Peter hadn’t been irritated just then, Belle’s response to his questions would’ve been deserving of a pat on the back. She was in pain, that was cemented for the werewolf, yet she still managed to sass at him and flawlessly throw little sarcastic comments at him. A small growl vibrated in his chest, not truly directed at the deputy, but a reflex of his irritation just then. 

“Just... Gimme a sec,” the werewolf decided to answer, although a few cuss words almost slipped. Allowing her time to stabilize herself against the wall, the werewolf rolled his eyes as Belle threatened that their daughter would be born in that instant. She didn’t quite smell ready to pop out a baby, but  he knew that pointing out a werewolf’s way of knowing so could bring down Belle’s wrath on him. “You aren’t dying here, Belle.” Thankfully, he had his enhanced speed. The trip back to the apartment was short, finding the actual keys? Not so much. After he finally did, however, the werewolf return to Belle’s side. 

“Let’s go.” The ride to the hospital wasn’t long... usually. Of course, with all the stress in the car, those few minutes felt like 3 hours. “Call Melissa’s phone to let her know we’re almost there?” he asked, wondering if she could. 

With each contraction came a pain that dominated Belle’s entire being. In that jail cell of fear and confusion, the time passed without her being able to keep track. She knew it was obviously not going to be the best thing about the whole pregnancy, she didn’t need anyone telling her that (even if people had already warned her, mostly Melissa). There was something in her that just thanked Peter only rolling his eyes at her words, she didn’t remember telling him about the bag, she just knew she had had it ready as the Alpha’s mother told her, after all, she was the one who had experience in the whole labour things, not her.

Belle’s eyes were closed, just trying to keep her breaths under control, she was scared, terrified, yet she was just trying to keep herself under control, she had found herself in dangerous situations before (the moment she met Peter was one of those) and she was sure labour had nothing to do with that. Her eyes snapped open as she heard the werewolf’s voice. “ Thanks ” she smiled as she reached for his hand. The woman walked next to him, having to stop one time because she felt her legs would not be able to allow her to stand. The French looked at Peter as he asked once more if he was okay. “ I’ve been better ” she mused, now turning to face him. “ Don’t ask it again, if I’m not okay I’ll let you know, you’re kinda stressing me out “ she assured, it was definitely the fact everything was just making her nervous, she didn’t mean to be rude, at least not in that moment, he was caring about her, yet the constant questions were stressing her out. “ Let’s just get to the hospital already ” she told him. “ Wait, you’ve got the car keys, right? ” she asked as her eyes meet the betas.

Peter could tell Belle was in pain---even her scent reeked of it---which was why he kept asking his mate if she was alright. In retrospective, he would think how he should’ve rephrase it: he meant to ask if she could still walk or needed a hand getting to the car. On the other hand, the werewolf felt oddly proud and surprised at Belle’s determination. Humans were weak things, or so he had always thought.... Yet, there was Belle: all indicated that the pain she was going through was incredible, yet she stood tall all the same. 

It would later be comical to Peter that he would go from completely and absolutely in love to straight down insulted in less than a second as Belle told him to shut the fuck up... She’d been far nicer, but shut the fuck up was what Peter had heard. “Right,” he mumbled. As they reached the parking lot, Belle paused and asked a question that froze the werewolf in his tracks for a moment. “What keys? We’re using your car? I ran here,” he reminded her, trying to control his irritation.

The French woman tried to take a deep breath as if he could really make something about the whole situation. How could she, she was actually panicking. “ Yes, broke ” she said just trying to calm, yet she was sure she sounded anything but calm. “ Please ” she begged as she just hung the call, leaving the phone on the table.

Belle had found a way to sit on the kitchen chairs, just trying to keep herself calm. It didn’t take Peter to walk inside the loft. “ Yes ” she nodded her head as she reached his arm just to help her get up. “ There’s a bag in the bedroom ” she told him. “ There’re clothes and … ” she felt another contraction, making her let out a whine. “ Can you get that before we go? ” she asked looking at the werewolf.

The way Belle had stressed that her water broke sent a volt of energy up Peter’s very soul. Belle might’ve been human, but she was one of the toughest humans Peter had ever faced. Fear and pain were two emotions the deputy barely showed---unless, of course, spiders were involved. So, hearing the controlled panic in her tone shook the werewolf. Either their child was truly on her way or there were two spiders in the home.

Watching as Belle reached for him, Peter leaned in closer to meet her halfway. As she stopped to speak, the werewolf paused, beginning to feel a wave of anxiety wash over him. He rolled his eyes, about to question Belle on the purpose of the bag. As she mentioned clothes, however, the Beta werewolf remembered Scott, his mother and Belle, all talking about how it was a necessity for the birth of the child. 

Why? Well, he couldn’t remember. Of course, he had enough intelligence to know just then wasn’t the time to be asking. “Got it.” He waited till Belle was securely on her feet before dashing to grab the bag. “We’re ready now. Let’s go---” Foamy squeezed between his legs as he spoke. “We’ll be back,” he promised the small canine, reaching out to take Belle’s hand to lead her to the car. “You ok?” he asked, aware it was probably the sixth time he asked in a row in the few steps they had been able to take.
