Taking a break from reading to listen to V.E. Schwab's speech as part of the Tolkein Lecture series. It's so good! I recommend listening to it. You can find it on YouTube. Six of Crows was a wonderful introduction to Leigh Bardugo's work. I gave it 4 ⭐. ******** Six of Crows felt like a fantastical take on Ocean's Eleven. The characters are headstrong despite their young ages. You could say they should've been older in this but it's minor in the scheme of things. The crew aren't perfect but I enjoyed their different personalities. They are led by Kaz, who is like MacGyver with the endless tricks he possesses. Seriously, he foresees and has a counterplan for everything! **nearly everything** I enjoyed being taken to a dark and edgy place and already have picked up the Crooked Kingdom to continue on this wonderful journey. ******** #sixofcrows #leighbardugo

Just finished #thebearandthenightingale by @arden_katherine and it was absolutely beautiful! . I loved the fairytale/folklore storytelling and the characters really brought the book alive. Vasya was my favourite with her free will and courage. Highly recommended and cannot wait to get my hands on book 2!

Just finished the EPIC Heir of Fire, book 3 of the ToG series by @therealsjmaas! Love SJM’s storytelling - addictive and imaginative reading at its best! Haven't been posting much because I’ve been too busy reading! . Finished the 5 books from the Old Kingdom series by #garthnix and they were awesome! Garth Nix’s world building and masterful storylines just had me hooked. I liked the old & new world juxtaposition and the unique form of magic. Lirael (book 2) was my favourite but all books have a place in the overall story. . Also just finished Cinder, the first book of the Lunar Chronicles by #marissameyer. I loved the fairytale twist and was hooked (finished it in 3 days) although I do have to admit it was predictable & the cultural aspect didn’t quite mesh well for me. . Now #currentlyreading The Muse by #jessieburton. Blurb sounds fantastic. Also #thankgoodnessforpubliclibraries.
