A creative mans desire is to achieve and complete, not to beat others. “Desire” is simply a roadmap to what is is you’re meant to do. It is the way I bare my soul to the world. _________________________________________ New Orleans. I’ve been in and through there multiple times. But NEVER as someone from a creative standpoint. And it was very apparent! I felt like a kid in a huge ass play pen. My most interesting capture (debatable) was of this older gentleman. Standing there listening to his piece really triggered this thought. We all have our struggles and let downs, but that shouldn’t stop you. I don’t know him from a can of paint or his situation but I DO KNOW he’s dedicated to his craft. To sit on a corner and do something you absolutely love and extremely skilled at for maybe no more than $5 a hour off tips would be very discouraging. But there he was regardless of the money playing to his hearts content. A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor. Being a creative in whatever right, whether it be a photographer, stylist, or playing a saxophone, has it rough patches but like every journey to live a creative life we must kill the fear of being wrong or failing.
