TXT SUGAR RUSH RIDE Story & Concept Explained | The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION Breakdown and Analysis

TXT's The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION will be the first instalment of a new series focusing on the theme of youth facing temptation. The January 27th release date was already foreshadowed back in the Japanese MV of Good Boy Gone Bad, where 1:27 appeared on the phone screen of the girl at the beginning of the video.

In the latest teaser the concept was introduced with the Thursday's Child logo getting lost in a psychedelic fantasy of swirling greens and pinks. A cryptic message can be heard in the background, and once reversed, the voice says: "It's so sweet but I should find my name".

The message implies that the concept will focus on the boys facing a sweet temptation that they will have to overcome in order to find their name. As we know from The Star Seekers, the name is something directly connected to one's true purpose, identity and inner power.

Finding your True Name allows you to begin your path towards self-realisation and by the end of minisode 2, Thursday's Child has Far to Go foreshadowed that they were on their way towards that destination.

With The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION, however, things change because even if Thursday's Child wants to move forward and grow from the mistakes of the past, the whisper of the Devil holds him back. In the concept trailer we saw that this devilish voice belonged to a creature with odd eyes, and in the behind the scenes, Huening Kai confirmed it was none other than the odd-eyed cat, whose eyes were modified in post-production possibly to add a new layer of trickery to this already unsettling character.

In The Name Chapter, this odd-eyed devil tempts Thursday's Child to leave the path of growth and join him in the magical world of their imagination where they can be forever young.

Like in the trailer, the album description references Peter Pan to get the point across. The Devil is like Peter taking the Lost Boys to Neverland and TXT are like Wendy and the Darling Children getting lured in by this entity who teaches them to fly. "Too tempting to ignore", the boys hold the devil's hand as they stray from the right path and start defying gravity. Interestingly enough, the reference to them "defying gravity" might also be a callback to Defying Gravity, which is a song from the musical Wicked, the prequel to The Wizard of Oz. That is a story that has already a lot in common with TXT's concept, but in this specific case, Defying Gravity is even more fitting because that song marks the moment Elphaba actually turns wicked.

Since the goal of the odd-eyed cat/devil is to make them "leave tomorrow behind" and forget about all the responsibilities and worries that they have, TXT will have to "Remember their Name" in order to return on the right path.

The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION is coming in January but the new story of this chapter was already introduced in the concept trailer! Check out my breakdown of the video and all the references that they included about Peter Pan, Faust and more! :D

TXT’s upcoming THE NAME CHAPTER will most definitely touch on the concept of True Names already introduced in The Star Seekers. True Names were first mentioned in The Doom's Night, and have been a huge aspect of their lore ever since.

In the Webtoon version of The Star Seekers, True Names are described as something that "not only shows your fate but also your powers. They are a source of redemption for you and everyone else."

In the Wattpad, on the other hand, they are defined as something that is "like a prophecy" but not quite. Everyone and everything has a true name that defines the essence of their soul, and while they don't necessarily show you the path to reach your fate, they do hint at the final destination of your journey.

A huge aspect of TXT’s story is for them to understand what is their name in order to realise their destiny. This is a concept that is also heavily featured in their music, where the "name" is something that has been mentioned in every album ever since their debut.

While we still don't have much information about The Name Chapter, the focus on the name suggests a focus on the theme of self-realisation. Discovering your name means discovering yourself - the powers that you have, the potential you can develop and the true purpose of your life.

In the latest update of Dark Moon: The Grey City with &TEAM they finally confirmed the names of the members of the pack. Some we already know, while others are completely new!

First off, we have the four original members that we already met in Dark Moon: The Blood Altar with ENHYPEN.

K = Khan Nicholas = Najak EJ = Enzy Taki = Tahel

We first met Khan and Enzy in ENHYPEN's Drunk-Dazed, but all four wolves are predominantly featured in both the Webtoon and the Wattpad of Dark Moon: The Blood Altar.

Harua = Ruslan Jo = Camill Fuma = Mahan

While these three characters are so far absent from the Webtoon version, they do play an important role in the Wattpad of The Blood Altar.

Yuma = Louis Maki = Luka

Louis and Luka are NEW Entries in the Dark Moon Universe!

New video up on my channel! :D I finally completed my analysis of &TEAM's Under the Skin, focusing on a breakdown of the concept of this debut, its connections to Lone Wolf by Kathryn Lasky and what clues they gave us about the upcoming storyline of Dark Moon: The Grey City with &TEAM! So much to talk about, enjoy! C:

In the latest Crimson Heart with LE SSERAFIM update, they finally revealed the names of the characters! Some of them were already introduced in the Prologue included in ANTIFRAGILE, but now we have additional information about the other members too.

Chaewon is Joan, the rebellious protagonist of the Prologue. Sakura is Sena, the granddaughter of Kim, the founder of Refugia. As presented in the Prologue, the two girls are complete opposites but befriend each other in unusual circumstances.

Yunjin is Yurina, a blue-eyed girl who seemingly thinks "there's nothing wrong with wanting to know [her] power's principle." Kazuha is Dabi, while Eunchae is Looisha, a cat girl with animal ears, a tail and suspicious odd-eyes.

&TEAM's debut MV will be released in less than 24hrs (YAY! :D) so here are some of my thoughts on the latest teaser of Under the Skin!

So, the first thing that seems to be confirmed is that the debut track will be a part of The Grey City lore. In the video description they included the tagline DARK MOON: THE GREY CITY with &TEAM so it'll definitely be showing us bits and pieces of the storyline and introduce the focal themes that will be explored later on.

This is also confirmed by what we see in the video itself because one of the dance scenes takes place in the gym of the Sunshine City School, the institute that the werewolves also attend in ENHYPEN's Dark Moon: The Blood Altar.

Much like in that story, Teaser 3 also introduces the pack as the members of the Sunshine City Wolves, which is the Nightball Team of the school as well as the rival team of the Decelis Academy.

Even just looking at the teaser, we can already notice great attention to detail. The emblem of the Sunshine City School matches the one we already saw back in Drunk-Dazed and the Webtoon, and even the colors of the uniform match the animations that are already available.

On the uniforms, we can also spot the Sunshine City School motto:

Sol Lucet Omnibus

It is a Latin phrase that means "The sun shines for everyone". This saying is more profound than what is seems because in ancient times it was used to express the idea that everyone has the inherent right to their own ray of sunshine. The sun shines for everyone means that we're all equal under the sun, and no injustice or greed can take that light away from us. This concept also fits well with the "code of honor" that makes the pack so loyal and united.

Another important detail of the teaser is the focus on dates, which hints at the idea that Under the Skin might not focus on a single event but rather give us a general overview of their upcoming story.

As I already mentioned in my previous &TEAM post, so far we know that Dark Moon: The Grey City will be set in the port town of Greyville 20 years before them enrolling at the Sunshine City School.
