hello!!! back in 2019, i would binge your videos. im gonna analyze some yoongi songs for a school presentation, one of them being interlude shadow, which i know is in reference to carl jung's theory about the archetypes. i,,,, have a tendency to go off track though and i wanna prepare in case i end up briefly mentioning other times bts has related their music to books. back when i watched your videos, i remember a mention of a book that inspired / was referenced in the love yourself trilogy-- specifically the concepts of her, tear, and answer. i can't find anything about it anymore, so i might be misremembering,,, but to be safe i was hoping i could ask you for the title of that book if it does exist? tysm!!!
Hi!! To my knowledge the Love Yourself trilogy wasn’t inspired by a single book or author but some of the songs reference/were inspired by literary works. Is it possible you are referring to Into the Magic Shop? That’s the book that inspired Magic Shop but during that time the concept was also used for their 5th Muster so it got wider attention. It also overlapped with the core message of Love Yourself because it talks about themes of self-care, empathy and learning to embrace your own spark to fulfil your true potential. If so, the full (super long lol) title is “Into the Magic Shop: A neurosurgeon’s quest to discover the mysteries of the brain and the secrets of the heart” by James R. Doty, MD. Hope that helps, good luck!! ❣️
