I'm terrified that I won't be able to pay my rent & bills this month!!

Tuesday, July 14th: Hello, everyone. I’m Gem, a bi, mentally ill, and multiple disabled woman in desperate need of help, as I'm struggling so freaking much to pay my bills this month!!

I apologise for asking for help again. As most of you know from my previous posts, I have been struggling to make ends meet while on welfare. And due to my outstanding bills and ever-increasing debt, it has been difficult for me to get by. These past few months have been absolute hell, and with no other income, I've been relying on the kindness of others to get by.

However, I desperately need that kindness again, as I wasn't able to pay my bills last month because I was behind on my rent, and I've been trying to keep my sister afloat during her benefit sanctions. I'm struggling quite a lot to pay them now. I owe a total of £133.27 in bill payments and fees, which is due before I receive my welfare, which I don't receive until the 31st!!

Again, I know this is a lot to ask, but if anyone could spare any amount to help me, even if it’s just £1/$1/€1, it would mean a lot, and sharing helps just as much.

I’m speaking my feelings out because u are family to me and i want to remind you of our situation.

First and foremost, I want to extend my deepest thanks to every single one of you who helped me. Because of your incredible support and generosity, I was able to evacuate Gaza safely. I will never forget that you are the reason I am standing here today.

However, our struggle is far from over. The brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip has stripped us of everything. My family and I lost our home, our belongings, and our sole source of income. We have been forced to start from below zero.

Currently, part of my family is in Egypt, trying to rebuild their lives. But human solidarity and attention have faded over time, and the donations have drastically slowed down. We are now struggling immensely to cover basic monthly needs, including rent, utilities, and daily expenses.

More painfully, my brother, Mohamed, is still trapped in Gaza, enduring unimaginable suffering every single day. He urgently needs monthly financial support just to secure his basic daily necessities and survive the harsh conditions there.

Throughout my life, I have always believed in the power of giving. I have constantly extended my hand to help anyone in need, and I continue to do so whenever I can. Today, it is my family that desperately needs that helping hand.

we desperately need help with food. this is URGENT because kids need a lot of food, especially food with nutritional value, snacks, etc to grow up healthy. although we make sure any food we get goes to kids first and foremost, it's still not the amount it should be I know everyone is struggling especially now but if anybody can spare even a penny we'd greatly appreciate it.

A book recommendation list

#1 and #2 : The Master's Quest two first books by @queen-mihai

Starting strongly in the fantasy genre, these first two of a eight books series has sure to have its hooks in you if you like whimsy and SF-Fantasy!

Meet Annabella, a long-lost Master who has to rediscover the World after a mediation of a century. Don't let her fast-paced and quirky nature fool you, this is a character with much depth and many surprises to discover :)

To note, the Dancing City is not a direct prequel from Meet Annabella, which can be a bit jarring for some readers.

#3 : Eternity's Irys by @eternitysirys

Another strong contender is the SF-Fantasy genre! Gritty, romantic and tension-packed, there is hardly a dull moment in this story.

Jeron is the tortured main character, split between making reasonable decisions, and bad ones. Sylus is that bad decision, but with his charisma, there was hardly any choice in the matter.

#4 : Your body is not your body by the collective hosted by @morggo

This anthology of more than 30 authors, is a hard, but incredible horror fantasy read in the reality of many transgender people.

Even if most of the characters are non-human, the metaphors are loud and clear. It's gory, it's horrible, it's terrifying, and it's amazing.

Not for all readers, but definitely a must read.

#5 : The Computer In The Sun by @thelostwordsofangelprimrose

Ending with a SF story of loss and reinvention, of futility and hope, this story is another hard, but fascinating read.

Follow Joshua as he deals with his inner horror on top of the real ones. To note, this book has a LOT of dark content, and some gore, but a necessary amount.

And with a name-your-own price, there is even fewer reasons NOT to read it!

Even online libraries may have a program to submit books recommendation, like for instance the queer liberation library

Nigeria's getting worse, homophobic hate crimes are increasing, and Lola's chances of survival while in the country get narrower by the day. She needs a new life in Germany in order to thrive.

Our lives changed completely because of the war in Gaza. We lost our home and everything we built over many years, and we have been displaced countless times searching for safety.

Every day is a struggle to provide basic needs like food 🍞, clean water 💧, medicine 💊, and a safe place to shelter 🏠.

My daughter Nour is still suffering from the effects of famine and malnutrition, and my daughter Wateen is still struggling with speech difficulties caused by the extreme fear she experienced from the sounds of bombing.

As a father, the hardest thing is watching my children grow up surrounded by fear, displacement, and hunger instead of safety and happiness. I am doing everything I can to protect them and give them a life with dignity.

19-year-old Khalil Al Habil's liver and kidneys are failing. Shrapnel damage from the bombardment that killed his baby brother Omar has gone mostly untreated due to a lack of funds and resources. The ill effects of this damage have progressed to the point that the organs are losing their ability to function. Khalil urgently needs 3 rounds of treatment to combat the effects of his deteriorating liver and kidneys.

We've paid off the first round of treatments but Khalil has two treatments that he still needs. The second costs about $1,250 usd, but we haven’t made much progress in more than a month and his condition is getting progressively worse. We need to meet this second goal ASAP!!!

The lethargy and fatigue caused by his deteriorating organ function only make reaching out more difficult. He is in very, very bad shape, and I’m extremely worried about him.
