Built for Fun, Engineered for Business A Note from the MyTikiBoat Factory
If you’ve ever seen one of our boats pull away from the dock, you know the look. People turn. Phones come out. Smiles get bigger. That’s not an accident. That’s the whole point.
We’re MyTikiBoat. We don’t just build boats. We build floating tiki bars designed to do two things really well: create unforgettable experiences and make money for the people who run them.
Why We Started Building Tiki Boats
Our idea was simple: fun should be easy to run as a business.
Tiki boat tours have exploded in waterfront towns because they’re straightforward. Load up a group, crank the music, float to a sandbar or sunset spot, and let the boat do the rest. For operators, that simplicity turns into strong revenue and repeat customers.
But “simple” doesn’t mean “cheap.” We saw a lot of boats that looked the part but weren’t built for daily commercial use. So we decided to build ours differently: commercial-grade from the hull up, with materials and methods that can handle real work, real water, and real parties.
Commercial-Grade by Design
Everything we do starts with one question: “Will this hold up in a rental or charter environment?”
That affects every choice we make.
Hull and structure: Fiberglass pontoon-style hulls built for stability and durability. The 23-footer drafts about 15 inches; the 26-footer about 19 inches, so they can get into shallow bays and sandbars without beating up the bottom.
Capacity and layout:
23' Custom Tiki: 6 guests + 2 crew
26' Custom Tiki COI: 18 guests + 2 crew (built as a charter vessel with USCG Stability Letter and COI standards in mind)
Systems that last: Marine-grade wiring, dual automatic bilge pumps, stainless hardware, Suzuki four-stroke outboards (currently 90 HP on the 23', with color options and dual-battery setups available). The hull carries a 10-year limited warranty; the engine carries Suzuki’s commercial/rental warranty terms.
This isn’t a weekend toy. It’s a working boat.
The Fun Part: Tiki Roof, Bar, and Vibe
Yes, we care about hull layups and wire looms. But we also care about the moment people step aboard and feel like they’ve landed on a mini island.
Hand-thatched roofs: Built by local artisans using traditional Seminole-style thatching. On the 23', that roof typically lasts 5–7 years in harsh Florida sun and storms, with some going past 10. The 26' uses a hurricane-rated synthetic thatch for extra durability.
Custom bar and seating: Each boat gets a handmade custom bar with bar stools, Bluetooth sound system, and lounge seating arranged so people can actually talk, laugh, and move around. The 26' is set up like a floating party platform with room for a full group.
Optional extras: LED underwater lighting, full flushing toilet with holding tank, aluminum front rail with opening gate, dual-axle trailer, and more. We build a lot of boats to custom wish lists, especially for operators who know exactly what their market wants.
The goal is simple: when people see your boat, they want to be on it. When they’re on it, they want to book again.
Built for Operators, Not Just Owners
Most of our customers aren’t buying one boat for themselves. They’re launching or expanding a business: tour companies, rental fleets, charter operators, resort add-ons, even bar and restaurant brands that want a signature water experience.
That changes how we build.
Maintenance mindset: We choose materials to keep routine maintenance minimal. A light rinse of the fiberglass, a wipe-down of the upholstery and bar, and you’re good. Operators run these boats day in, day out with very little downtime.
Service network: Boats are built with simplicity in mind—simple means fewer things to go wrong. If something does come up, we work with a local dealer near you to handle it. Suzuki outboards are serviced through authorized Suzuki dealers, so you’re not stuck waiting on a single source.
Shipping and scale: We ship all over the U.S., and regularly move boats into the Caribbean and Central America. Some customers order one boat to test the market. Others order fleets.
We’re a factory that normally works with commercial entities and dealers, not walk-in retail. But we’ll arrange a factory tour by appointment if you’re in the area and serious about your project.
ROI Isn’t a Buzzword Here
When operators talk to us, they’re not just asking about beam and horsepower. They’re asking: “How fast can this make money?”
Tiki boat operations in many markets have seen significant year-over-year revenue growth, especially in the Southeast, Midwest, and Pacific Northwest. The model works because:
High passenger capacity per trip (especially the 26' at 18 guests + 2 crew)
Strong per-ticket pricing for private parties and tours
Relatively low operating complexity compared to other charter vessels
A product that markets itself—people see it and want to book it
We don’t promise numbers. But we do design the boat to support a strong ROI: durable construction, high capacity, low maintenance, and a look that fills your booking calendar.
How We Work With You
If you’re reaching out about a boat, you’re probably in one of three camps:
You’re launching a new tiki boat business. You need guidance on capacity, Coast Guard requirements, and what layout works for your market. We’ll walk you through the 23' vs. 26' decision, COI considerations, and options that make sense for tours, parties, or both.
You already run tours and want to expand. You know your numbers. You know your peak season. You just need a reliable boat that can run hard and look great. We’ll focus on build timeline, shipping, and any custom features that match your existing brand.
You’re a private owner who just loves the idea. Yes, we build for private “Parrot Heads” and barefoot pirates too. Maybe it’s for family cruises, sandbar hangouts, or your own floating bar. The same commercial-grade build quality applies; you just get to enjoy it without the charter schedule.
In all cases, the process is straightforward:
40% deposit to start
40% when the boat is pulled from the mold and into construction
Final 20% about a week before shipping
We accept personal and corporate checks and wire transfers.
What We’re Proud Of
We’ve been at this long enough to see trends come and go. Commercial Tiki boats aren’t going anywhere. They tap into something simple: people want to get on the water with their friends, music playing, sun on their backs, no agenda other than “let’s have a good time.”
We’re proud that:
Our boats are in use all over the country and the Caribbean Islands.
Operators trust them for daily commercial use, not just occasional rides.
The construction backs up the vibe: 10-year hull warranty, quality materials, and a design that handles real conditions.
We know how to have fun. But we also know how to build something that lasts.
If You’re Thinking About Taking the Plunge
If you’re sitting there with an idea for a tiki boat business—or even just a dream of your own floating bar—start with the basics:
What market are you in?
Who’s your ideal customer? (bachelorette parties, families, sunset cruises, fishing groups, etc.)
How many trips per day do you realistically want to run?
What’s your budget for launch vs. growth?
Then talk to us. We’ll help you match the right boat—23' or 26', standard or custom—to that plan.
We’re not here to sell you a brochure. We’re here to build you a boat that can carry your idea, your brand, and your customers safely, comfortably, and profitably for years.
No shirt, no shoes, no problem. We’ll handle the boat. You handle the fun.
