speaker of spirits

this was different for hoseok, the once though of being in love to only turn out to be filled with disappointment. he thought he was in love, he thought he’d finally found someone that could handle his work.. his life. but apparently the spirits were too much to handle. and now his worst nightmare was standing across the room, hoseok’s own ghost that just left him standing dry and lonely. 

the writer turned on his heel, hands dropping on the counter in front of him. his lips pressed together as he moved his gaze to daehyun, the only other friend of his that seemed to understand him.  ❝ i just don’t understand of all places he’d be at this party ?? ❞

his hands fumbled for a drink, filling a plastic cup with mostly alcohol and just a splash of soda.  ❝ so listen. how.. opposed would you be to pretend to be together with me ? i don’t want him to think i’m not over him or something. ❞ his eyes met the other after taking a long sip of his drink, the burn of the alcohol tracing his throat.  ❝ i mean you don’t have to if you don’t want to.. probably a stupid idea anyway. ❞

jaemin   watches   the   rain   through   the   stained   glass   .   a   sigh   passes   his   lips   ;   he   hates   winter   .   his   mood   dampens   with   every   raindrop   that   falls   &   he’s   so   wrapped   up   in   his   thoughts   that   he   almost   forgets   that   hoseok   is   there   .   “   sorry   ,   i   zoned   out   …   i’m   sorry   you’re   stuck   here   ,   there’s   not   ———   ”   he   was   going   to   say   there’s   not   much   to   do   ,   but   he’s   just   remembered   the   old   record   player   &   collection   of   vinyls   hidden   away   in   one   of   the   church’s   many   closets   .   “   do   you   like   old   music   ,   by   any   chance   ??   ”   //   @blvexside

hoseok was so used to silence, whether it be comfortable or otherwise. he would usually sit in eerie silence at his home, zoning out with only the sound of his fingers typing along the keyboard of his laptop. so when he found jaemin zoning out, he didn’t really mind, because hanging out with jaemin would be one of the more comfortable silences. he knew the internal struggles the younger male was going through, so hoseok would never want to force conversation. but he perked up at the sound of the other’s voice, shaking his head at the first statement before his eye,

❝ i love old music !! i listen to old music a lot when i write. ❞

Minji wasn’t sure how she could ever thank him enough for being a hero to her when she needed one the most. She was really thankful that he for some reason decided to go outside to check everything out. Most people of the neighboring unit actually stayed inside after maybe peeking out of their window to see what was going on. She couldn’t really blame them; it was the middle of the night after all. It was actually funny how out of all people the one that always treated her with kindness and politeness was now here again to talk to her. It was almost like it was fate or something. “I’m glad you came to check up on what was going on.” She bit her lip lightly as she felt her cheeks heat up slightly as she said that. She held a hand over her mouth while she laughed quietly to herself when he ran into the door. That was really cute especially how he apologized to the door. 

“Me neither. At least we can go back inside tomorrow to get some things.” She looked down at herself as she started to climb the stairs following him to his door being well aware all of a sudden that she was only wearing her pajamas. She never envisioned this would be the moment she would actually have a decent conversation with him dressed like this. “Me, too actually. It’s nice to know your name finally, Hoseok~.” She felt herself grow shy when he smiled at her, but she didn’t miss the chance to flash him a sweet smile back.

She walked inside his place while looking around he little as he went to look for his phone. She was ready to call her mom though she really rather not. She could practically hear her mother freak out about the event even though there was no need for that. Thankfully no one got hurt. “R-really?” She didn’t want to be a bother to him though if she was to admit she would like to stay with him. “You are like— an angel.” She giggled when she caught herself saying her thought out loud. “Maybe I am one~.” She teased straight after then started to laugh again and shook her head. “If it’s really not too much trouble. I think it’s better not to freak my mom out in the middle of the night.” 

it was a surreal moment for hoseok, seeing the woman here in his home that he only admired from afar with a simple hello or  good afternoon. watching her smile right there in front of him, the writer was glad that fate brought them together. and while it was a long shot that minji would agree to staying with him, hoseok was glad they finally got to meet formally. hoseok wasn’t the best at communicating with living people, but he could tell the air between them wasn’t awkward... so maybe he wasn’t doing too bad.

hoseok was genuinely surprised she agreed to stay with him, mostly because this was the first time they’d truly met each other. but hoseok wasn’t going to question it, instead, he gave a short nod and a small smile, ❝ it’s really no trouble at all !! you’re seriously welcome to stay as long as you need to. ❞ he knew that it was late, but a lot had happened that evening, he felt it would be rude to not offer her something to eat. 

he started heading towards the kitchen, looking back at the woman, ❝ a-are you hungry ?? i have— ❞ he started, opening his cabinet to show only packets of ramyeon. a short, and very embarrassed groan rattled his throat, he could have sworn he’d gone shopping.. turns out that may have been a couple weeks back. ❝ well, i guess i have ramyeon... sorry, i thought i had more snacks than this. i might have to go shopping tomorrow too. ❞

      jinho takes the bottled water from hoseok, unscrews the cap and tips the bottle up, drinking some down. some of the water manages to escape out of the corner of his mouth but jinho didn’t seem to notice as he rescrews the cap back on. ❝well, you know i had a date with lisa tonight - that girl i was telling you about,❞ jinho began as he holds up the bottle swirls the water around and hiccups, giggling a bit afterwards. ❝she said that she was interested in someone else and left me in the middle of our date!! it was going so well too!!❞

yoongi looks up from the music he’s working on writing, gaze shifting over to hoseok. he shrugs a shoulder gently, gaze lifting to look at the other students wandering about. “i’m used to it, i guess,” he says, voice as quiet as ever as he looks back over.
