Instead of the new dogshit Odyssey film you should watch Iphigenia (1977). Itâs made by actual Greek people and focuses on a mother-daughter relationship to explore how women are sacrificed by powerful men in times of war. Also the main actress has the face of an angel đ the whole movie is available on YT with English subtitles.

Spotlight: Jazz is peak Prowl being able to comfort Jazz even though Jazz doesn't want to open up about how he's feeling and Prowl completely respects that
i love their dynamic so much here and in "all hail megatron", it's such a shame that their connection ended up being completely forgotten in the rest of idw series... reading "optimus prime" and coming across that one frame, observing what we have had and lost because the authors couldn't keep in mind how and who they were writing... it actually hurts
you guys. you guys! why are you doing this to us. why is it so hard for you to keep track on your story!! why do we have to see their relationship... fall apart?? without a decent look at it?? somewhere out there, in the background?? we're just left with the fact that they are over or maybe never even were there in the first place
prowl and jazz had so much potential at some point of idw history. the way how well they worked together despite all the difficulties, how sincerely prowl supported jazz even though he remained very closed off and aloof the whole time, how he really tried to be a good loyal friend, respected jazz's personal boundaries, didn't push, didn't go too far with his concern, didn't except anything in return and was just there to help... a rare bright moment for this version of my poor boy :'D
there were so many opportunities to develop this further, to show how they could exist in the new cybertronian future for which they had gone through so much hardship, how could they fight all the problems that were coming down on them, together, exactly as it was on earth. but, alas, we have to accept that they were quickly brushed aside and forgotten. a little time passes and they become strangers. forever. their entire bond is just erased. because that's how idw works with their characters...
idk it really is frustrating to me that people equate discussion and critique to censorship, and act like the only way to fight censorship is to claim that fiction never causes tangible harm. we know this isn't true! if it was true, representation wouldn't matter. fiction can't cause provable, tangible good, but be totally precluded from causing any kind of harm whatsoever; it's a complete logical fallacy.
if you listened to minorities, you would know fiction can and does perpetuate a lot of harm when it props up popular social beliefs and stigmas about minority groups. it reinforces incorrect perceptions about people, and it causes a lot of people to internalize those perceptions.
if someone can watch a queer show and discover their queer identity from it, they can also watch a homophobic show and internalize those beliefs as well. it doesn't mean all fiction holds magical influence over its audience; violent video games or movies don't produce violent people, etc. etc. it's not a magic wand. but there is a difference from believing fiction makes people copy outlandish behavior, and understanding that fiction can reinforce negative beliefs and biases that are already predominantly held by the majority of society.
repeated tropes where fat people are made into jokes and are laughed at and mocked supports fatphobia and causes fat people to internalize shame and poor self image, because fatphobia and body image are dominant social issues.
depictions of disability as something burdensome, unworthy of love, and deserving of death reflects eugenicist beliefs, and causes disabled people to interalize that about ourselves, because society actively devalues disabled people in a systemic way.
stories that misrepresent racial cultures and poc create stereotypes that help spread misconceptions and racial biases, and more often than not also participate in tropes that poc then internalize as messaging of their social value (see: disposable black girlfriend trope.) this is because most modern western societies are founded on and still function under white supremacy and racism.
there are endless groups who get affected negatively by fiction, and it's exhausting that we don't get listened to and basically told to "shut up with that woke shit" by self purported leftists when we try to talk about it in fandom spaces. the harm is real, and pervasive. people have killed themselves over some of the issues that get internalized and the treatment fiction normalizes.
it's frustrating to me that we cannot open discussions about these topics and the way they cause harm without everyone and their dog claiming that it's censorship. critique and awareness aren't governmental powers! conversations where harm is pointed out is not physically stopping you from writing whatever you want!
tbh it's getting reflective of conservatives when they whine about their free speech being infringed upon any time they face social repercussions for their bigotry. people TALKING is not censorship. judgement from your peers is not censorship. people not liking your fiction is not censorship. if you feel threatened by minorities pointing out how certain elements of fiction can be hurtful, you need to do some deep self reflection.
we are allowed to ask for better. we are allowed to open up conversations where we request better treatment, better representation, and better awareness as to what that looks like. but shouting out any and all critique of fiction as "censorship" and denying any of the problems it may cause only serves to silence us and our ability to raise standards for our fiction, which in the end, results in the ACTUAL censorship of real minorities, by ensuring we cannot speak freely about the way fiction affects us, for good or for bad.
anti-censorship MUST include the value of voices who face the most silencing, and a lot of anti-censorship conversations do the opposite by framing a lack of criticism as a neccessary protection against censorship. this is a false binary, and very black and white thinking. critique should not scare you. the idea that some fiction may be harmful should not scare youâsomething bad or harmful does not mean that censorship is suddenly permissable or ethically viable.
in fact, a core pillar of anti-censorship ABSOLUTELY should be how we as a society should be able to address some of these topics and harmful things WITHOUT resorting to fascist, reactionary regulation. if you can't do that much without "there is no war in ba sing se"-ing about fiction causing harm, then you're not prepared to be anti-censorship.
anti-censorship means being prepared to defend the indefensible. to protect the right of things to exist, EVEN WHEN they are harmful. but we need to be able to address that actual, real harm in ways that allow people to understand why censorship is not the answer; because people who are touched by that harm are not buying your denial about harm existing for an instant, and all you're doing is alienating the people you should be allying with.
the answer to harmful fiction is to address it, analyze it, have open discussions about it, and bring awareness to it; and more people will learn, and more people will improve. it's how we've progressed in fiction so farâhow we've gotten more women as main characters, more black stories and casting, more queer characters allowed to exist and explicitly fall in love. censorshipâeven aimed at harmful stuffâis how we LOSE that progress, because it is a power that is always targeted at minorities. that is the conversation we should be having.
but by shutting down conversations about the harm fiction causes, what you do is leave no recourse for people affected by it OTHER than censorship. if speaking falls on deaf ears, hurt people will turn to action; discussion is quite literally a NECCESSARY preventative measure against censorship.
please think about male pregnancy outside of a meme context at least sometimes. idc if you say "I'm gonna get him pregnant" or things like that but male pregnancy is going to become an increasingly serious issue for us trans men/mascs
just. acknowledge that there are men irl who can get pregnant, not always by choice, and how that effects us. because we're going to need it. we already need it
but fr I'll never take it seriously when someone says "i was abused by men, I'm allowed to hate them and anyone trying to show love for men is an MRA" like you know how many of us were abused by our mothers and it's still (rightfully) considered not okay to say that women are all abusers just waiting to kill their children. If you blame violence on someones gender instead of the societal mechanisms that encourage and allow violent and harmful behaviour you're perpetuating that cycle.

Part of me is like âneat. Reblog,â and part of me is like âI understand now why impressionism took off, because thereâs a 0% chance the artist wasnât like âfuck this shitâ by the halfway point.â
Everyone: Please please please don't write your books in Google Docs. Frankly don't use Google Drive for personal stuff.
Their terms of service say they take down stuff like content related to terrorism and trafficking, but this Google Sheet was literally a list of movies I'd watched this year and books I'd read.
Holy smokes, guys. It's way worse than I thought. Google actually took away access to every single file of fiction writing I'd made on that account. BUT I backed it all up on Scrivener yesterday by coincidence. So I haven't lost my work, but I could have just lost the 12,000 words I've written this month after a year of really intense writer's block. I honestly don't know what that would have done to my psyche.
That is awful! If you're looking for a gdocs-like replacement, Ellipsus @ellipsus-writes is a queer friendly, anti-AI equivalent with online syncing and sharing - I've been using it for almost a year now as a replacement for gdocs and absolutely love it.
I do still back up all my work to local storage on LibreOffice too though, thank goodness you backed up to Scrivener OP!
TLDR: I generally like most continuities of prowl. And while I like a lot about idw prowl, I hate his writing and treatment in the series. He is jarringly different not only compared to other continuities of prows, but even from comic to comic from idw.Â
Long version:
I generally love prowl and most of his continuities. While There are different continuities with different prowls, Idw prowl is not a common type of prowl, it is exclusive to idw. That Prowl is just well known for some reason. Prowl ainât always a cop, its actually a rarity for him to be one-n he's just some dude that looks like a cop car. G1, Cyberverse , prime (books), animated, marvel (comic), even War for cybertron(Netflix) are seperate prowls very dissimilar to idwâs iterations, thats right , iterations in plural form. Because the IDW comics had multiple writers that wrote multiple prowls.Â
Why I like em:
Ive liked him since I was a kid. (And jazz, my other fav.)In many continuities. Prowl is a perceptive guy who is usually respectful in some fashion, has a strong sense of justice. In some continuities heâs caring and fairly fatherly to me (g1, animated, Cyberverse, earthspark) in other continuities hes willing to learn from others and grow to be better (animated, earthspark , war for cybertron). Heâs very responsible, he's second in command for a reason. (Basically a second dad or close uncle. He co-parents with dadimus prime along with ratchet.)And , usually, heâs good with humans, especially kids. His relationship with chip chase (the parts we did see in g1) were precious. There was respect, admiration, and cooperation. Sometimes prowl is an sweetheart- how his animated version treated Sari and tried to train her was endearing. His g1!Prowl also picked up bee to help him out. In many continuities , prowl is described as friendly and loyal. And hes often an cute sweetheart whoâs loyal and just. Boring to some, occasionally a paper weight, but I still like em. It isnât often that the character is largely explored but I often like the bits I see.Â
Considering some of my favorite characters are: cream the rabbit, Amy rose, Felicia (darkstalkers) and typically kind characters, this makes sense for me.Â
As for his Idw iteration and Iâm separating him for a reason- he isn't as bad as some make him out to be.(depending on the title version) Heâs had moments of kindness and genuinely cares for his people, planet, and friends (depending on who writes him.). He ultimately tries to do the right thing, he often has a point too. He considers a lot more than some give him credit for. Humanity had a positive and negative effect on him, and he had an opinion of indifference towards them but he ultimately helped them. I remember in his spotlight he made a character turn when he revealed himself to humans and saved a little girl. And they often draw him with awesome designs, like they went all out on that cop car man.Â
My issues:
Buckle up buttercups, this is long. Got some hot takes here too. My main issue with some other prowls is the under- utilization in a lot of continuities. My issues with IDW prowl i that in robots in disguise , and mtmte, the wreckers series, and even Prowl's own spotlight special: THEY ARE ALL DIFFERENT CHARACTERS.
It's not just that I donât like that many favorite character was written as a bad guy- It's that he was written badly.Â
And god the blanketing. When some people express some issue with Prowl as a character, they blanket every Prowl in media when they seem to be specifically referencing Wreckers!Prowl or mtmte!Prowl. or whichever. Yes, Idw prowl is complex and interesting and very multifaceted. Heâs fascinating and sad but gets a semi-decent ending⊠at lest he wasnât shot in the boob and melted like g1. And I find that some of his themes are underutilized , glossed over, or completely forgotten. Because different writers want different things out of him. And whats crazy to me is that those prowl has often worked with are often far worse than him.Â
Tarantulas was doing messed up stuff without prowl, he just grew obsessed with him when prowl expressed interest in his work. He was already lost in the sauce.
Everything about impactor.
Hell, Arcee is if âits on sightâ was a bot. (I didnât Like this version of her either. Thanks FURMAN.(/s)
Everything about the CONSTRUCTICONS was FORCED onto him.
None of them are his victims.
Tho Sending a soon to die Fanboi bot on a sui-wap mission cold as hell. I mean it makes sense when hiding evidence but it's cold, dude.
He often worked with criminals or messed up people because said messed up people were doing messed up stuff anyway. Depending on the title, he dragged innocents to it, but it was usually premade murderers. Not dissimilar to Amanda Waller.
But I am not gonna sugar coat it. while Kup got mind melted by some radiation and went on a murder spree of his own comrades, with springer being stupid enough to continually send people to slaughter- it dont give prowl the right to possess this dude and use him as a puppet. Inexcusable. However , I do not consider him being forced into. Gestalt with the constructicons âkarmaâ, and its still a violation of bodily and mental autonomy. Most of this is WRECKERS!PROWL btw.Â
And for mtmte and lostlight- i didn't get Prowlâs obsession with mind-grapist!Chromedome? Chromedome is Legit awful person to me, never liked him. (If you do it's fine, nothing personal. This is just me.) Prowlâs the only one to survive interacting with him while mans has like âŠfive dead(?) spouses and had to get another on universial warranty. Domeyâs literally on his second rewind and rewind still gets it bad in ending A. Prowl dodged a bullet and youâd think logically heâd stay away from CD because- hes smart? Why the writer(s) make him focused on chromedome when the two werenât even legitimately together is beyond me , but i guess some folks like shipping drama.    Never forget, Chromedome directly caused a war/utter disaster because he didnât want his bish to know his terrible secret. Awful person and husband. Really, he could have stuck it to prowl if he went ahead and told rewind , but who is he to care about rewind and prowlâs autonomy- the secret wasnât even revealed in the comic! It was an unfinished plot!!!
Prowls spotlight special had NONE of this. None. (Does anyone even remember this?)That was a completely different person! Put spotlight!Prowl and Lostlight!Prowl side by side and tell me 3 things similar that arenât their color pallet? Now tell me their differences. Itâs literally night and day.Â
And god its cute how the writers would undermine each other and do something different with prowl.(/s) One wanted to give prowl a redemption, but next comic , another wanted to make him a stickler for the rules. But wait! This prowl bends the rules and does a bunch of under-the-table buisness. But wait, this prowl is a detective! But wait, this prowl is a statigest and remembers everything and can track 500 objects, But wait, prowl is a black mailing schemer-
I disliked most of em but hated the schemer and how all over the place he was.Though I liked that prowl called idw!Optimus out on his shit- because that Optimus ainât shit. Idw1!Prowl did have some points and needed to call more out. Prowl also needed to start hitting more people back, like god damn, him getting molly rocked every other issue was never funny to me, especially since most of the bots doing it fucking sucked. Like look at me and tell me Optimus or the others were any better than prowl. A reminder that everyone was fine with Prowl screwing himself and others over- UNTIL IT EFFECTED THEM.
Some of em knew, especially effin Perceptor who actively participated and got off SCOTT FREE.Â
Prowl hid a LOT of shit the autobots did. (And while there are no good sides in war, i didnât appreciate the haphazard way they tried to make some autobots evil/complex while vinerating the decepticons. I dint care how abused or misunderstood Megatron was- he still gem-no-sided like five fucking species and got humans in intergalactic aspca commercials asking for donations! Screw him-his pain was not the universes to bear⊠and heâs prejudiced-did we forget that? Forget how he never respected organics and only felt slightly bad about them last minute after some off screen bs and a weird adventure? Hes also a terrible leader too. Megantron and his ilk are the MAIN reason so many species of peoples are scared of Cybertronians. But i digress.)
DONâT GET ME STARTED ON THE FORTRESS MAXIMUS THING- It makes no sense when you think about it in terms of continuity.
Prowl is often a lightning rod or distraction from just how crappy the other characters are and how much they get glazed.Â
Conclusion:
I have so many issues with idw transformers as a whole, especially with prowl. And it irks me that idw is seen as the gold standard continuity and that they have the definitive version of prowl that everyone associates with the overall character. Even the tf wiki uses idw!prowl to blanket all the other continuity prowls.Â
Idw doesn't even have ONE prowl.
Hell, idw1! And idw2! Prowl are two different people because idw wanted to reboot the series a year or so before they lost their license. Which made 0 sense to me because of all the plot holes and loose ends from the first run but whatever- deadlines and corporate is a bish. I think that with the vastness of idwâs transformers, the main things i liked were the art and designs. I didnât care much for the stories and writing and Prowl encompasses that for me.
I prefer cartoons, indie comics and manga for a REASON. I tend to avoid marvel, dc, and idw. Love being reminded of why.Â
I love the design. Love the character. I love spotlight!Prowl. I donât know who d fuwk wreckers!prowl and after that is. I also simply hate the all-over-the-place writing. So thanks for that barberâŠRobertsâŠSome third dude whoâs name I forgot but there are probably more... God, I understand how starscream fans feel! But that's it, thats my thoughts on the character. Feel free to agree or disagree but this is only my personal experience.Â

âfuzzyeffigylabyrinth1â is one of those accounts making scam warnings for gfm blogs and also mass tagging accounts to spread the warnings. womenâs bodies werenât âmadeâ to do anything, nature didnât âintendâ anything, no human action is âunnaturalâ and there is no inherent âpurposeâ to a human life
I love stuff like this. Didnât a tribe in Africa send America some cows after 9/11? Like this is holy and the most valuable thing we have. We hear your suffering and want to do anything in our power to help
It was not a potato famine. The famine didnât happen because of the potato yeald failing. Ireland was actually producing more than enough food. However it was almost all land owned by Brittish landowners, who took all of the food out of the country to sell in UK. Potato was what the Irish farmers ate, because it was cheep and could be produced in worst parts of the land, where more profitable food couldnât be grown. When there were no longer potatos, the decision for the farmers was to either starve and sent the food as rent to the landlords or loose their homes and then starve.
The Brittish goverment was unwilling to do anything for two reasons. First was the laissez-faire capitalistic ideology, that put the rights of property owners to make profits above human lives. Rent freeze was unthinkable and they even were unwilling to do proper relief efforts as free food would lower the cost of food. The second reason was distain for the Irish, and the thought that they were âbreeding too muchâ and the famine was a natural way to trim down the population, aka genocidal reasoning.
This is why itâs important to stress it was not a potato famine. The potato blinght was all over Europe but only in Ireland there was a famine. The reasons behind it had nothing to do with potatos and everything to do with the Brittish.
Apparently what made Choctaw want to offer relief to Irish was the news about the Doolough Tragedy. Hundreds of starving people were gathered for inspection to verify they were entitled to recieve relief. The officials would for *some reason* not do that and instead left to a hunting lodge 19 kilometers away to spend the night and said to the starvqing people they would have to walk there by morning to be inspected. The weather conditions were terrible and many of them died completely needlessly during the walk thoroung day and night.
This apparently reminded the Choctaw of their own very recent (and much more explicit and bigger scale) experiences of ethnic clensing, where they were forcibly relocated. It was basically a death march and thousands of Choctaw died from the terrible conditions also completely needlessly.
In 2015 a memorial named Kindred Spirits was installed in Southern Ireland to commemorate the Chactow donation.
