when I was younger, I got food poisoning. I was supposed to recover from it, but I wound up with a bunch of nasty medical conditions instead. I never imagined I would become disabled from food.
so I am really glad I have been able to help spread the word every now and then about food safety and recalls, since it hopefully means a few less people going through what I have.
while I have your attention, I do not post every recall, even just for the US, so here are a few of the links I use!

Some life advice nobody told me that Iâve slowly gathered through navigating the adult world;
If you go out to eat, tip in cash. 100% of that money goes to the server if itâs a worthwhile establishment, whereas a portion of a card tip goes to the business owners.
You donât owe your bosses anything thatâs not in your contract. They will try to get more out of you than youâre paid forâdonât give it to them. Even if they try to guilt you over it.
If you canât muster up the energy to take care of yourself, whether through work fatigue or depression, at least brush your teeth. That is the most expensive part of hygiene to fix/replace. Everything else can wait if you canât manage it at the moment.
That said, a shower is Temporary Depression Eraser. Itâs kind of incredible how well it works to help you feel better, even if itâs a lot of spoons.
Go out in the sun. Itâs so dumb and small but human minds become a very not okay place to be if you donât get your daily sunlight. Seasonally Affected Disorder is very real and stupid but itâs easily treatable. If you live in a climate without a lot of sun, they make lamps that emit the same rays to compensate.
Donât feel bad for eating bread. Carbs are important and actually encouraged as long as itâs not the only thing you eat.
Vote in your local elections. Your voice will matter way more in those than anywhere else. They donât tell you this because itâs true.
Donât put stock in any bad thoughts you have after 8-9 pm. Again, so stupid but itâs a very real thing.
Kindness goes a long, long way. Even little things like âI like your shirtâ. I promise you it makes a difference.
Eat at least one vegetable a day to keep your levels stable. The human body is a temperamental little bitch that makes everything Horrible Forever unless you eat a vegetable.
Hold landlords accountable. If youâre paying them an arm and a leg to live somewhere, they can fix your fucking boiler. Itâs part of their contract as a homeowner if theyâre renting to someone.
Adding my two cents:
Eat a fruit for the same reason you should eat a vegetable, though , if it's a citrus fruit , eat it because you don't want scurvy
Cutting off a family who was bad to you is ok, your relationship to them does not excuse any horrible behavior or actions they refuse to apologize for
This will sound dumb, but talking to somebody about your problems will help sometimes
Do not listen to any of the thoughts you have after midnight, I'm serious they do not matter
Touching grass is a good thing
It is ok to like media that is technically deemed as "for kids", so long as you do not become an internet troll about it
Staying informed on what's going on in the world is important, however it is ok to take breaks if it is too overwhelming at any point
Fellow adults who are older are not always right

âDo it scaredâ âdo it aloneâ are all great tips, but my biggest takeaway from therapy is do it messy. This is especially true if youâre getting out of a burnout, which I experience often. Literally just do it messy. You donât need to pick the perfect trail to walk, the perfect playlist to listen to, whatever the fuck it is. You donât need to have a meticulous to do list and wake up at the exact time you planned and drink the exact amount of water you planned to drink. Like the biggest thing for people like me to remember is sometimes itâs okay to do it messy. Put on a random yt workout and just get it done in sweats. Do 5 minutes of a daunting task and go from there. Sometimes just getting up is a win during intense burnouts or depressive funks. Literally just do it messy.
