Hey there everyone! It's once again been a long time since we have done an update. We promised at first that the updates would be every two months, but just for where we are at in development we are mostly trying to stay quiet about what we have! This update is more of a "What's happenin'!" kinda of one. So lets get started!First off, we wanna address an elephant in the room that is only apparent to us at BananaSoft. As Blue Omen has become more popular we have seen a BIG influx of people liking, sharing, and enjoying what we have shown of the game. With that we also have gotten a ton of people who wanna donate to the game because they missed out on the Kickstarter. We were hesitant to accept more donations because we are a small group. Adding more to the pile of things to keep track of wouldn't make much sense for us. So we have kept the Paypal closed and refused everyone who was trying to give us anything more. We stood by, and still do, that if you wanna support us, all you have to do is share out the game to people, interact with us, and of course just follow our pretty constant updates on our twitter/tumblr.Bryan's Twitter (You'll usually see gameplay here.)Ink's Twitter (You'll usually see concept art here.)Official BOO Twitter (You'll see big announcements here.)Official BOO Tumblr (You'll see a mix of everything here.)Though it has become clear that people wanna support us in a much more financial fashion. So meeting those people in the middle who want to donate money to us but also keep the load lighter on us, we are opening a ko-fi! Ko-fi is a handy little tool that a lot of artists and creative types to accept tips/donations from their fans. Those that donate to the ko-fi will not receive ANY rewards for doing so. The ko-fi is literally made for people that want to see our work continue and want to show their gratitude, which we think is really nice, because not everyone can create fanart or the likes. Of course the continued development of BOO is not hindering on getting a lot of donations from the ko-fi. We are more than safe with what we earned during the KS. money for development won't be an issue. Though it would be lying to say that donations won't help us.Second we would also like to introduce a new member to the Blue Omen Dev Team. JOE!!!!!! Joe is another music guy, and might I say VERY talented to boot. He did a battle theme for the first area.https://soundcloud.com/brainfoam/blue-omen-operation-pepper-gulch-fight Check out the rest of his stuff, but hands off ladies. He's ours!Okay now the part everyone wants to hear. Blue Omen Operation is doing great! We are staying very busy. We went over it a bit in previous updates, but we wanna make it clear that after the Kickstarter finished, we kinda had to re-build Blue Omen Operation. The biggest reason for that is the KS Demo was our huge first attempt at developing an RPG, it was a lot of trial and error. Thankfully everyone who played the demo loved it! Although there was quite an abundance of bugs within the game and just other issues we had noticed. Since our overall skill greatly increased, we decided to start from scratch in some areas. So a lot of the work made with the demo was reworked. The game still plays the same, but much much better. Everything is more tightly woven together. So lets show some gifs we have! (FYI These gifs are posted to our twitters and tumblr, so for those that follow those, you will more than likely already seen these.) You might just notice, but Blue Omen's resolution was updated to an HD format! The biggest reason we did this is because Blue Omen will more than likely be on consoles at some point, so we had to update for modern television/monitor aspect ratios. That means we had to update some assets too. We spent about a week or so updating a lot of assets to fit the new resolution size. It was a lot of fun! (No, it wasn't.)The biggest thing we have been working on though is: cutscenes. We are about done with the first chapters scenes, we have been tweaking them to have a lot of life and flow to them. Here is a tiny sample. Pasco is a old coot who spends his time walking around and helping others in the small town of Pepper Gulch. He doesn't see too many outsiders, so when two strangers come to town, he just loves to say hi.There is a lot more to show, but we are gonna save it for later! Thanks again everyone you are all so handsome and strong, I bet you call your grandmother every day! See you next update!
