Cale Bradbury is one of those internet octopuses with an arm in everything. His main blog Netgrind showcases some of the most gorgeously fascinating GIFs on the platform, but that’s only one tentacle of many.

Bradbury’s work also branches off into videos and games, all of which maintain a sense of ingenious play and surrealism. The Dezert, a “non-Euclidean journey through inner space,” pairs Bradbury’s gorgeous aesthetics and the age-old saga of “searching for and collecting psychedelic mushrooms on otherworldly planets.”

That predilection for enthusiastic combination is strongly apparent in Bradbury’s single-image GIF work as well. His skill in animation and staggering depth of imagination entwine to produce eminently hypnotizing and delightful scenes, many of which display an absolutely singular level of complexity. It’s animated art with a perfect balance of familiarity and invention, a steady and dazzling flow of wildly dynamic worlds.
