Not just abt this specifically but it's absolutely insane to me the way that ppl on this site will gaslight it's Black users to the point where even some of the most like outspoken Black voices on here feel like they have to apologize for...not putting up with racism??? Like I have seen time and time again non-Black ppl on here harass and belittle Black ppl for talking about racism. The amount of times racist ass ppl on here go out of their way to minimize the effects of racism or call racism a fucking "nothingburger issue" just to turn around an perpetuate it towards any Black ppl who 'dare' call it out. Black users on this app get thinkpieces in their fucking notes just for being like "I wish this Black artist's song wasn't co-opted and whitewashed for a show that doesn't gaf about Black ppl" and bcs ppl on here do that shit so often, Black ppl feel like they need to apologize for talking about their own opression. I know this isn't just an online issue, this shit happens in real life all the time. But it rlly is just so telling to me that the app that parades itself around as a 'safespace' is so willing to gaslight Black ppl into thinking they shouldn't talk about racism. None of the Black ppl on this app have anything to apologize for, ur not 'bitter' or annoying for talking about how prevalent racism is and how othering and dehumanizing living as Black person feels. This stupid fucking circus show is more important to ppl than the humanity of Black ppl and that is absolutely something u should be able to talk about without feeling like it's an issue. Cutting something out of your life because you think you don’t need it any more only to realize that it was in fact working as intended and preventing a problem that will return should you stop doing this is a good experiment to run periodically with something small like dandruff shampoo, lest you start to think it would be a good idea to do this with like let’s say public health and the social safety net and vaccines
